It is no wonder that you thought that you should know more about the events at the start of the series. The kid that left the group is the discoverer of the X-rays or Röntgen rays in our world. I think only the german speaking and perhaps the medical community know how to pronounce his name as you and even the series show:). In the second episode the japanese pronounciation of the name is even so bad that the creators of the subtitles couldn't realize that there shouldn't stand Dr. Luden but Dr. Röntgen. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilhelm_R%C3%B6ntgen. I don't know if there is a real life equivalent to the painter Serafina.

2019-12-27 11:21:16 +0000 UTCThe confusion is more like a "mystery" part of the anime, so I feel like it's supposed to be confusing at this point (i mean, we're not supposed to know what's going on... yet!). So I hope that didn't come off as a critique, I like mysteries. The music is amazing and even though it's clearly and older anime, the art style reminds me of "Heidi" so it has a certain charm to it :3 I''m excited for more

I had honestly forgotten myself, else I would have given you some warning. The first few episodes have a lot going on but it should settle down as the anime progresses. Though it still might be worthwhile making some quick notes to help keep track of everything

The music is pretty special too, I'm excited to see what they came up with for the opening whenever we're allowed to watch it without spoiling.
