I absolutely love the references in this arc. Literally everything can be a reference in this one. From a-z starting with Absalom and ending with Zombies.

I watched a whole episode in PIP-mode with the real episode playing in the background before I realized that the white bar is gone. Yes, I'm that much of an idiot xD

I'm fond of that ridiculous Nami/Usopp chase in 345 because the whole futile thing gave me major nostalgia flashes of Scooby-Doo lol. The entire experience the scaredy-cat half of the crew went through up till now did this for me. Also the scene where the cowardly duo jump column to column to avoid the zebraroo looked so much like a similar scene in Lupin III's Castle of Cagliostro that I have to wonder if it was not an intentional reference to that Miyazaki classic, which of course brought on a whole other wave of nostalgia. I like it for this if not anything else.

Copy and pasted the following from a thread above so the grammar might be weird in context... Basically it's not wrong, Oda played with Japanese grammar a bit. The problem isn't that difference, it's the difference in meaning between "Wano Kuni" and "Wa no Kuni". You can see it here: https://bit.ly/3bNfFvw I am under the impression that a native Japanese speaker will read it as an old way to say "Japan" or it could be read as "My country". The problem comes when trying to say it in english, because 'no' functions as a participle linking two words together many translated "Wa no Kuni" as "Country of Wa" rather than "Wano Country" Addition: This is what was solved by Oda writing it in romaji

I know! I really like the chemistry and the dynamics between Franky and Robin. Plus they are both hilarious when they are together; she with gloomy comments, and he complaining ha ha. I'm not much of having ships in One Piece, but they are cute together.

Unpopular opinion: I see so many people ship Zoro x Robin but I much prefer Franky x Robin. I liked their moments back in Enies Lobby when Franky told her living wasn't a sin or something like that. And now in this arc they are paired together. I don't mind Zoro x Robin but I think Franky would be able to make her laugh more which ties back to Saul's laughing advice. Dereshishishi :')

It`s okay that you dont like some episode and you say it. Many OP fans dont like this arc asa whole. Other than that... i like you theories, because i never thought of it, when i watched it for the first time ;)

CORRECTING THE SUBTITLES The island that Hogback was talking about is pronounced and spelled Wano Kuni, not Wa ( he literally said that I don't know how the person who wrote the subtitle got it wrong) Wano is the name of the country and the word Kuni means country, so it's like saying the Country of Wano or Wano Country or Land of Wano.

I didn't see anyone mention it yet, but the "New World" is the second half of the grand line. Garp tells us it's where the Yonko rule. If you look at a map of the One Piece world, they'd need to pass the red line again before they get there.

This arc gets out of hand here with the silliness. Definitely wouldn't blame you if you don't enjoy some of the episodes. This is why this arc is my least favourite in the series :( Oh well, it's definitely better watching along with you at least and the humor is pretty good. I'm keen af for this arc to be over lol Thanks for all the hard work and I hope you feel better :) (that dream sounded horrible btw)

If you can't get the oil out of your kitten's fur then one option would be to shave the fur off. He/she would be very unhappy about it, but it grows back. Long ago we had a similar problem with a puppy who ended up in some black oil-like substance.

Pleasantly surprised that the bar is gone (^o^ ). Yeah, I feel like the episodes weren't the most entertaining ones as well, but that's often how it goes in One Piece. By now you know already I think, just hang in there, all the more interessting and fun stuff will come sooner or later. :)

It was interesting to listen to you, and I consider the rating you gave them is fair. Honestly, the last two chapters are not my favorites, and I let myself skip some scenes. Sorry. Today I also did it to hear what you thought at the time. And it was fun looking for references ha ha ha. Honestly, I used/use to associate Perona's garden more with Alice in Wonderland, specifically with the Tea Party. I don’t know why ha ha ha. A reference to The Secret Garden or The Bride's Corpse would never have occurred to me. Secret Garden is one of my favorite books, there is a very old movie from that book, I still like it. Thanks ✨ And I also hope you can rest better without unpleasant dreams.

sadly, no :( it's a two hour drive to the airport, then a 2 hour flight to Cape Town. Hanco's mom lives there, but we couldn't even go visit because of the lockdown

Have you ever thought about watching the "Episode of" series of OVA's? It goes back to some of the classic arcs with new animation

Thriller Bark was a dark time in the world of One Piece subs. Kaizoku Fansubs disbanded after episode 310, and at that point no one was subbing One Piece because KF was just so good no one could touch them. Some of the KF staff tried to keep going under Vegapunk subs, but that only lasted until episode 342. I'm not certain, but I'm assuming Vanillapunk was made up partially of staff from Vegapunk subs, and even they didn't make it to the end of Thriller Bark.

To be fair, when this episode came out no one knew that. It was written in kanji in the manga, and the kanji for it is read as Wa, it wasn't until Oda first wrote down Wano in romaji that the rest of the world learned how to spell it.

the subs are wrong in a part you took note of, its not Wa country, its Wano country :P

you should know, i still enjoy and look forward to your reactions no matter how much you enjoy it, when your having alot of fun its a bonus cause we get to see you smile more x
