i thought i commented this on the last post but this arc is what really sticks in my head when i think of "monogatari" and what it can be at its peak. kaiki's unreliable yet deliberate narration along with shaft's masterful direction gives it the weight of a classic film or novel. i've never read the light novels so i wonder if they're more like this and less uhhh...tooth brushing??
