Death sentence I meant that, altho I think is necessary for like a serial killer, I think the person carrying out the death sentence (the one that has to kill the serial killer) - I think over time killing people will hurt your soul too much. That's why Jukai is worried about Hyakki - I think he thinks Daigo, for example, deserves to die for what he did. But Hyakkimaru, who has to carry out that "sentence", is in danger of losing himself in that anger/hatred if he didn't have someone to keep him grounded (someone like Dororo whom he cares for to remind him that love is more powerful than any hate)
