Below is just a bit of a recap a mod sent me so I can be a little less confused next time...

Sugimoto unknowingly encountered one of the prisoners who told him the story about the Ainu & Gold.

"The Ainu gathered a large amount of gold to fight off the Japanese who were then killed by a man who stole the gold, but was then caught and thrown in Abashiri Prison. While imprisoned, the man tattooed other prisoners with a secret code that would lead to the gold's location and told the convicts to escape and find his allies in Otaru."

Sugimoto then meets Asirpa and tells her the story he learnt which she says she believes it, because her father was one of the Ainu men who were killed that night and they both pair up for the hunt for the gold and revenge.

They catch their first live escapee convict who reveals the man they're after has no face and they called him Noppera-Bou. Now, in episode 10, we are introduced to Kiroranke who says that Noppera-Bou was trying to entrust the gold to Asirpa and that he is Asirpa's father.

Clearly there is some things that need to be resolved! And I'm excited to learn the truth about Noppera-Bou's identity and more!
