[DBZ] 83 - 86 + Special 1 Reaction & Thoughts

Comments

Of course Sayians are hypocrites, they are tribal people. They are very much stupid and evil and give no thought about the fact they did the same thing Freeza did. But yes I absolutely agree, Vegeta's last speech is kinda weird. Suddenly he talks about sayians as if he ever gave a damn, despite having explicitly said he never did. or as if we're supposed to empathize with their fate, despite the fact they've been shown to be simple evil people who deserved their fate. Still, despite that, I think Goku acknowledging his Sayian heritage is a nice thing.

JeanJean

Missed the BANG scene. Huge loss.

JeanJean

I subscribed thinking I would see the episodes in clean and original audio, but it's the same as on YouTube, only without cuts?

Sorry i wasn't following the reaction live so have caught up recently and had to say something to all the Vegeta fans here: I understand your frustration that kayla isn’t a fan of him right now, but I have to say, my disappointment is far greater. Forcing someone to like Vegeta at this early stage, when he hasn’t yet gone through the growth and development that makes him so beloved, risks ruining the natural progression of their experience. Part of what makes Vegeta’s journey so impactful is seeing how far he comes from his beginnings. By pushing her to like him prematurely, you’re taking away the chance for her to genuinely appreciate his transformation when the time is right. Let her form her own opinions—trust the story to do its job! 😊

Izuku_Midoriya

Let her have her own experience. She’s not there yet, and it’s unfair to project your thoughts or expectations onto her. During the earlier arcs of Dragon Ball Z, a lot of people didn’t like Vegeta for various reasons. Part of the journey is witnessing his growth over time, and she’ll experience that in her own way. Stop getting upset just because your perception of him is influenced by what you know from the later arcs. Let her form her opinions organically.

Cynthia NSEKE

Are you saying that based on what I’ve seen up to now or what you have seen?

Animaechan

Vegeta is the greatest DBZ character written despite his morality

Wasif Kamal

Vegeta is a vile deranged crazy asshole, he is not a good guy in any way. I like him but people should accept a character for what he is. I actually didn't like Vegeta in the first saga but in early Namek saga he was being sneaky and clever(creepy) and almost got his way if the earthlings didn't show up with the dragon radar, that was pretty entertaining imo

Kautuk Nag

I would say the story was trying to show that Vegeta's death was not just character development for him but also Goku because here Goku opens his eyes to him being fully Saiyan even though he does not know much about them and their customs. Before when Goku first learned about them, he wanted nothing to do with them and then later on was unsure about it like when he was fighting Burta of the Ginyu force stating "I am a Saiyan who was raised on Earth I guess". I think that Goku embracing Saiyan pride means he is fully accepting his Saiyan ancestry at this point in the story, there is no greater meaning beyond that.

superjj3

I went back during one Kaio part and have asked the chat in the past to tell me at the end of the episode which part to go back and watch if I skipped it.

Animaechan

agreed indifference is "neither good nor bad", but calling a baby scum is (at least in my books) a negative reaction. He looked down on Goku.

Animaechan

I mean he literally called him "scum" so..

Pokapoka

I wouldn’t say Bardock “despised” him. More indifference.

Zee

Love Bardock!

Zee

I agree and not to mention she might miss some important information in those canon scenes that could answer her questions during the review. So it’s better to not skipping those scenes even if it’s annoying at this point of the story or to the next episodes / arcs.

Portgas D. Yass

Love your reaction to when Goku arrives and omg been waiting for a long time for you to see the scene where Grandpa Gohan finds baby Goku in the woods! 😭 Also i think is very ironic how Bardock and Vegeta both despised Goku iniatially but at the end they put on his shoulders avenging a race that not only found him a "disgrace" but also ever since finding out about said race it's been only problems and been horrible to him and his friends.

Pokapoka

PS: Not sure if someone in the live chat responded, but their armors are not from the Tsufurujin, that bit is certainly filler. They're simply the Frieza army suits. About the Tsufurujin being filler or not, it's complicated lol IMO you can just ignore it completely. You will have questions if you remove them from the story, but don't worry too much about that. PS2: I do think that you went a bit hard on the Saiyans in general, but I am glad that you brought up the real life comparison. It is like a pre-enlightment kingdom ruled by a medieval expansionist empire. They were most likely conquered by the empire after defeat, never knew any different (that generation at least), if they rebelled they would have died instantly and moreover it was like an army nation. In real life we had many uncountable wars between kingdoms and emperors and some warlike nations like the Spartans.

Joao Pucci

I understand skipping some of the Bulma filler stuff, but you shouldn't skip the Kaio-sama stuff. A lot of that is canon and he keeps dropping facts and details about what's is happening on Namek to the audience by talking to Yamcha and the others that you may not get otherwise.

NthDgree

also you if you were a character in that world you could just wish to the dragon balls the power to kick vegeta without him being able to do anything to you... also interesting that guys hear about kicking balls and tell you weird stories about it lol

chacho

I have said it before but I love vegeta, it is so funny he is such a fuckin asshole kicking dende like that 😭 but also seems that I love him for different reasons that the people that you have discussed with that defend him. I'm not going to say what I think of his arc or how you are going to feel about him because I don't want to spoil anything, I'm going to write it and I'll say it in a few arcs lol

chacho

No spoilers and no tryhard Vegeta defense, just a bit of my personal interpretation 😭: I love Vegeta and I think this is sort of "do you see the white color or the blue color on this picture?". I tried to elaborate a reasonable defense but it can get pretty philosophical, so I rather let you hate him lol All in all, there is a fundamental view on how you interpret the character that I think it is valid, and that is completely fine (I bet most people that defend him don't really have the arguments to do it anyway). Maybe this can be better discussed after you are finished with DBZ or even DBS. That said, I'd like to point a small thing about saiyan pride, mostly because the show itself does not do it quite well. The pride that it is mentioned multiple times for the saiyans as a race, Vegeta (representing the core of it, as a royal member), and now Goku, is pride almost in a derogatory connotation. The same pride that prevents someone from doing something good because that person "is too proud". It is a foolish type of pride. Sum this to the pride in fighting no matter the context or consequences, the pride in the battle. In that sense Goku definitely has the pride of a saiyan. (Or only the half of it, the fighting bit, because he was raised on Earth) That is why Goku let Vegeta live, not because it is wrong to kill him, but because he wanted to fight him and surpass him, that was ultimately his reason. TL;DR pride here does not refer to pride of being part of that saiyan society, but rather the inner pride that fundamentally permeate a saiyan's way of living, for the good or bad.

Joao Pucci

Ok I wasn’t thinking about YouTube that makes sense. Unless you can somehow put it in a part of the screen that can be cut out of the YouTube video, it probably would cause trouble. No worries if it’s not possible.

donald johnson

hmm I think there's a way to do that, but idk if that's something that would be annoying, especially for YouTube videos... if someone says something that ends up getting deleted or blocked (which happened multiple times today) the editor would have to work around cutting that out specifically, since it would still be in the video... I'll talk to my mods about it. For DBZ though I think the better solution would be to engage less with the chat until the end of the reactions bc it's been a bit of a distraction, I admit

Animaechan

Would there be any way to put the live chat on screen when you record these? As someone in another time zone unable to watch you live, feels kinda left out that I don’t know what you or chat are discussing. You can delete this if not a good place to ask.

donald johnson

great this gonna be epic :)
