2025-01-21 00:50:03 +0000 UTCLoved your reaction. Also as you said, I also got into Dragon Ball with DBZ, so the first time I saw that scene, I only knew adult Goku, and yet it blew my mind for days. For someone like you, who followed Goku from a cute chubby kid to the ultimate chad daddy, the emotions must’ve hit different, even if you saw the transformation coming. I remember as a kid, when that episode first dropped, my neighborhood was a ghost town no kids in sight. Once the episode was over, we all came out of our houses like ants from their anthills and talked about it all afternoon, going “WOW, that was so cool, what was that, blah blah,” making our theories and everything… ah, nostalgia 🥲

Opening up that discussion and comparing different transformations to actually decide on the best? not worth the time of discussing right now. I enjoyed the episode without tainting the experience with the stupid fighting that topic would stir up.

2025-01-12 20:57:19 +0000 UTCjust to put into a power context what a Super Saiyan transformation does to Goku. It multiplies the base form power by 50 times. So you can imagine why Toriyama stopped using power levels because the numbers would get ridiculous after this point and plus he didnt want people hanging on to arbitrary numbers when they can change so rapidly during a fight like when using the Kamehameha or Piccolo's special beam cannon.

2025-01-12 05:43:12 +0000 UTCIdk if you knew this but the last time the anime and manga mentions a power level was during freeza’s 2nd transformation where he states his power level is above 1 million, after this we never get a mention of numbers ever again however a official data book approved by the author that released long after the series had ended states that Goku’s power level as a super saiyan is 150 million.

IF there were a language something "should" be watched in (and there isn't) it would be the original which is Japanese.
