Well the movies itself can appear canon as much as it wants but it can never really be canon as the show progresses as if the movies didn't happen thus removing its canon validity

2025-04-24 03:09:01 +0000 UTCToriyama’s involvement with the DBZ movies were just with character designs and bojack was one of the many characters he created for the movies which explain why they all look great. The bojack movie is the only movie from the original ones that I can see no problem with it being “canon” to the anime because of how well the writers of the movie tied the events of the cell arc with constant references and 0 contractions to the anime’s main story. The only thing stopping it from being accepted as “canon” is the fact that it wasn’t written by toriyama but many things that are “canon” weren’t written by toriyama so I guess it comes down to personal perspective on if movie 9 is the only one that can be argued as “canon”.

2025-04-23 02:42:22 +0000 UTCYamcha was in this movie to collect more Ls. Hilarious that the animators didn't even care about him and Tien enough to put them in the same hospital room. Even Chiaotzu was rather chillin with the others than be at Tien's side, lol. That said, he put up a decent fight against Trunks before the latter turned into a SSJ.

Enjoyed your thoughts about this movie too, one thing i love is how this movie fits the narrative of the series and continues to show more of Gohan and Goku's bond. 2025-04-22 08:48:07 +0000 UTCMy favorite part of this movie is easily when Gohan screams and you can see the broken annoying strings as he’s walking by them. Everyone I know back then hated how Bojack killed Zangya(the lady warrior) He most likely did it to try to catch Gohan off-guard which didn’t even work. 😩 Some people think that the writers wanted to avoid Gohan killing the scared woman warrior so they just had the villain do it instead.
