Some trivia: 1. Eddie Murphy was originally planned for the role but due to schedule conflicts couldn’t but his brother Charlie Murphy (rip) made that cameo 2. Not only were the dialogue between Larry and Jedediah completely improvised, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson were only on set together for one day. So what they did was made Stiller act out the scenes holding a toothpick with 20 different versions of a line and feed them back to Wilson. 3. They had Stiller slap a tennis ball as stand in for Crystal, the capuchin monkey (Dexter), but it took trainers weeks to get her to pee, slap and bite him.
