I'm not going to argue with you :D I liked your reaction a lot ! But just one thing that I wanted to add here. that King of Pirates in this series is different thing than in One Piece. Basically he has limited time to use this title. So basically Jack voted for Elithabeth case no one except her wanted to fight against Beckett. That chinese lady that you talked about woudn't take same decision as Elisabeth. So yeah this was the only thing that I wanted to add here.

2022-04-26 03:25:25 +0000 UTCI did point out in the video (mid rant 😝) that it was probably the fact that I’m a OP fan that made me more pissed about the title of pirate king being given to such a Mary Sue ;) But mainly it was just “the straw that broke the donkey’s back”. It felt like Jack was being downplayed more on this movie and she was being given everything on a silver platter, despite being very unlikeable (to me) and not really earning it 😅 (like being captain in the first place only bc of a misunderstanding) Ah well, as u know i still gave the movie an 8 out of ten 👏🏼 I just wanted a little more from her character since I liked her so much in movie 1. There was potential for her to (for example) earn the title of captain and THEN be granted the title of pirate king. Or potential for another strong female character (eg one of the other captains) to play a more integral role. She started off so strong, but seeing everyone simping for her despite her bad attitude 😩 it was just a bit tiresome by the end of the movie 🥱 I like hearing a different perspective tho (eg “her being less likely to act like a pirate”) so thanks for pointing that out 👏🏼

2022-04-25 22:30:58 +0000 UTCHaha, the Elizabeth "hate". Yeah, i didn't like that she went kissy kissy with everyone neither. And i think the focus on that kinda hurt the story a bit, or even more than a bit. But the pirate king thing... there was so much One Piece bias, it was quite entertaining. :D Imo the entire point of her becoming king was that she was the one person who did not deserve it, or did deserve it the least out of all the pirates there. I think that was Jack's plan, since she's also the least person who would act like a pirate as the pirate king (e.g. running away or holding the fort instead of going on the offense, and using the united fleet for more than just fighting Becket's armada and the Flying Dutchman after they won). From my point of view, her becoming pirate king was one of the better parts of the movie, but i can see where you are coming from. :>

She became king only thanks to Jack's vote, so that he could carry out his plan. If he voted for himself no-one would have been king since everyone voted for themselves alone

2022-04-25 13:23:07 +0000 UTCUsually i don't love it when they make sequels to movies that had never any planed. Lot of movies screw that up royally. But with those three movies they did such an amazing job. I am quite certain that they didn't have a trilogy in mind when they made the first movie. But it sure feels like this entire plot was planned out from the very beginning. To me this is an absolutely epic climax.
