Are you caught up with the One Piece manga?

To those who answer YES, let me know in the comments whether you feel that your experience with watching the anime after is enhanced or not.

I really want to have the experience of reading the latest chapter and making theories with everyone... but I know most people are probably not caught up and might enjoy my reactions less if I read ahead in the manga.

At least, that's what I thought! But the YouTube poll right now is only 24% anime-only.

Anyway, I'm currently reading AOT manga from the start (5 or so chapters at a time), then I rewatch the show (the episodes of the chapters I just read). The experience has been awesome!

I always said I don't want to read the OP manga past the anime content, because:

1. I am worried I will not enjoy the anime as much

2. I am worried people will not enjoy my reactions

At the moment I am having second thoughts, because I am loving AOT anime rewatch & reading the manga A LOT and also those reading/watching with me are also enjoying it...

I think the theorizing and discussions will be SO FUN if I'm caught up with the manga... but first, let me hear what my patrons think.

Comments

Its so much better, i am extremly excited to see some scenes animated and the wait is always worth it. For me i can enjoy the anime far more since i read the manga first

Relaxio

I tend to let it pile up then watch to skip around all the repeating and filler. But I do watch to see the fights in motion and hear the voice lines

PowderedToastMan

From my experience i can say that the anime isn't that enjoyable after u read the manga, that's why i quit reading the manga since last year and only now the anime caught up to the place where i left off. I'm way more excited to experience a new episode that i know nothing about than waiting for a new chapter, Anime is for me just a better experience and with the current art style OP got, it would be a waste not to experience the best arc in the series in the best format. Also yes, your Anime only fans would probably feel less enjoyment and unsafe about spoilers. I try to distance myself to anything one piece related on the internet because i hate spoilers from the bottom of my soul. My only exception was your patreon, because i really enjoy them

Shinichi-Kudo

If you do manga you'd most likely end up doing theories with some other youtubers. You won't enjoy the anime much after doing so because of the pacing, you would be so annoyed on how much things are stretched out in the anime (Not unless it was directed by the same director of ch 1015).

John Rico Bustos

I believe the reason your read along AOT manga and then watching the anime works is because the anime pacing is good. I don't believe you reading the OP manga and then watching the corresponding episodes would work as well since the pacing in OP anime is much worse. Another point is that both the AOT anime and manga arent that far apart from each (only 9 chapters left for the anime to adapt), but the difference between OP anime and manga is about a year. So when you catch up to the OP manga and watch the corresponding OP episode you'll likely forget what happen in the manga since its been so long

mae

Wano arc is way more enjoyable on the anime than manga, I would love if you could make the effort to only watch the anime, the experience would be better for you :3

Emmanuel Da costa Resano

i think i would prefer to watch ur anime reactions, to be honest.

Francisco Sacramento

As someone who is caught up I still love the anime and feel like it’s definitely better than the manga in when it comes to Wano so honestly you’d probably still enjoy it . I would personally enjoy if you did latest manga chapters as well though :}

Luid

Yes, read the manga. From now to the end, it is better

dentes1p

I'm caught up on the manga and I think there is a whole other realm of enjoyment to be had when you can be part of the epic theorizing when crazy chapters release There's so much I learned about the series and Oda's writing that I wouldn't have known if I stayed anime only, and some of those things alone wpuld be worth reading the manga for me The anime has been fiiire recently but there are always going to be THOSE one piece episodes that barely move and feel janky. Some weeks you might be glad to be anime only, but most weeks you will feel very dissatisfied. In manga form the speed of the story is dependent on you, and you can really absorb so much more information that way and because it's fast it's more immersive (imo) I think Luffy would say, do what you really want to do

SogeKing

manga has a better delivery and story telling than the anime for the story i enjoy manga but for the action and fights i love the anime because i'm a manga reader i don't watch anime weakly i only watch episodes i know something good will happen in them so i recommend you not to watch manga it will make your anime reactions less interesting because you know whats coming and manga reactions are not that interesting, i'm a manga reader since thriller park

Abdulmjeed

I am a manga reader since the prison part of Wano (when I caught up to one piece). I would say the content is interesting as it is new (ofc). but I feel that the anime adaption is beyond perfect like ep 1015 and 1017. if I had to choose I would prefer to be an anime only. but ofc when the content is out there you want to consume it. but for "not enjoying the anime after reading the manga". From, my experience knowing what will happen only makes me more appreciate the animation, VA, and direction the director takes to adapted the manga content on a animated episode.

EmperorRio

Now, you've already read a good chunk of the manga and are almost caught up with the anime so you should just keep doing whichever you have the most fun with. I'm just letting you know how your worries relate to my experience and what I know

Beelz

I WAS caught up with the manga but stopped reading since October last year to let chapters accumulate and then read them all at once. For me, I really stopped enjoying the anime, the way they stretch out scenes became too annoying and tiring once I caught up with the manga and it just wasn't worth it. From time to time I come across episodes I enjoy like episode 1015 but for the most part when I watch episodes I find myself dozing off and getting distracted because the anime doesn't add anything to the experience (Besides bad pacing). That said I don't know if it'll be the same for you, also keep in mind that 1) One manga chapter each week is far less content than one weekly anime episode and 2) Anime reactions tend to be more popular than manga reactions

Jolly D. Joestar

As a very very long time weekly Manga reader(since punk hazard) who dropped the Anime in Dressrosa. Ofc i would love to see your Manga Reactions and the excitement for weekly manga release. However one thing i don't see many people talk about is fandom experiences with manga. While the being part of the community is great for certain sections, it is also completely jarring for others and its far far more toxic than the anime stuff in terms of both good and bad. I have been told that "i suck on oda for everything" to "i should drop the series if i don't enjoy it". Which these things can affect an individual and i have been following you since you started OP...i can tell that can affect you. So it is a big gamble. And ofc what everyone else has said, your anime reactions will suffer cause you will now clearly see the pacing and filler of anime is gone and the story is hyper fast. Spoilers is another things. You could completely switch to only manga reactions but idk how you feel about that.

MImeMazino

I would second this comment pretty much as is.

DarkJens100

I'm manga reader but still watch the anime each week. For me this lets me get hyped for certain events in the anime because I know its coming and can't wait for how they gonna adapt it. Everytime Megumi Ishitani does an episode I'm always blown away and enjoys it. Afterwards I can see other people reaction to the episode also online. So in my case I wouldn't want to change it, not only I wouldn't be spoiled for stuff further down the line but the amount of one piece content to consume increases as well.

Hikari D Xebec

I might be an odd one but I'm caught up to the physical manga books and not the latest chapters. Personally, I've been feeling let down by the anime probably because the manga overhypes me, making my expectations so high. At this point I'm really just watching the anime to "confirm" how good the manga was...it's a weird routine really ^^;

osuu90

What would happen to your current Manga Readthroughs for One Piece? I enjoy those videos as well and would hate for you to skip all the chapters you haven't read yet :-( I do think reading the manga in advance would make the anime a lot less enjoyable for you...so I dunno, I think I would prefer if you mostly stick with the anime reactions instead of switching to manga. And even if it's only a minority of your fans that only watch the anime, you would still either end up losing this part of your audience or force them to switch to manga too.

Chris

i fast read through the chapters i try not to analyze what happens in them to much ,and i always look forward on how the anime is gonna do with certain fights ,i caught up with the manga since the marine ford arc and been keeping up with it,and i dont feel like reading the manga make the anime less enjoyable for me

EmDragonx

I dropped manga, case anime in Wano was really good, much better and more enjoyable then manga. You could make those discussions tho, but I don't think that you will enjoy it so much, as you enjoyed anime. Case anime added many things that made Wano more interesting etc, while manga pacing is much worser right now. So it's up to you KT

Jack Shadow

I read the manga a while ago when the whole "Sanji-Arc" was drawn but decided to go on with anime only. The reason is simple, One Piece is near at its end and it is about to get crazy. I watched Episode 1015 without even knowing that it was a special episode where 'roof piece' started. Luckily I didn't receive any spoilers so I got chills every time I watched the second part of it (and it was a lot). I can understand why people tend to go on with the manga, but for me it is way more epic to do as I always did since 2017 ^^ I changed my decision back then when Ruffy used Gear 4 in the manga and so the moment when the anime showed him using it, the epicness was not as great as I wanted it to be. If you stick to your plan and warn us before discussing any topics that will spoil us, I don't see any problems in you reading the manga, but sure enough your anime-reactions won't be the same. You will have to make a pro-and con-list for yourself. I think many people here would like to see some manga chapter-reactions as well :)

Jaime0197

I must say reading the manga definitely highlights the anime-only issues like the terrible pacing and nowadays i only watch these really high quality episodes like 1015. I prefer it this way tho because i see the manga as the unaltered vision of the mangaka and one can take part in weakly discussions and theories.

Sukiro

manga has way better pacing

Relaxio 420

I'm sorry but how could you think the anime is better? The ice oni anime episodes give me shivers bc of how horrible they were. Drawing out two chapters into 6/7 episodes is not good pacing

J

I think one piece is a rare series where most of the fans are manga current and a significant portion are manga only. I can't speak to any anime watching experience as I find the anime hard to watch

Assimilater

That’s definitely a valid concern! But as I’ve done in the past, whenever I’m watching a show and I want to talk about another show (because it’s somehow relevant), I would notify viewers to “mute me until I put my hand down, or until I take my hat off”. I already talked about it with a manga reader who brought it up and I said a better idea would be to have a “spoiler banner” that pops up on screen. It’d be more convenient. So if I want to discuss something manga related, I would say “mute me until the banner goes away”, then I’d give it a few seconds so you can mute me and skip until you see the banner goes away 😁 I don’t think I’ll read and catch up with the manga in the next 5 months or something at least, so don’t worry about it for now 🙏🏼

Animaechan

Being caught up to the manga is so hype when a new chapter drops and everyone it in theorize mode! Everyone is in the same boat and it feels like we all experience it together. I both read the manga and watch the anime. Even though I know what's coming story wise in the anime it's always cool to see what the animators do with it! One downside though is that any bad pacing in the anime is very noticable and frustrating at times - sometimes I skip forward in a minute or two when watching the anime but I imagine you can't really do that for a reaction. You mention enjoying AoT whilst reading the manga however I would caution that the formats are different. AoT doesn't have bad pacing because it is a seasonal show, whereas One Piece is weekly.

Jason

Anime Pros:  Colors and animated action and openings Cons:  A story not directly from the legend Oda, so you don’t see the story as Oda wishes you to see, but how the toe animation wishes. Evidently different  The studio only wants money, so will do anything for that matter(10 min of repeated backstory, filers, extended boring/unnecessary things in the episodes)  Censors blood and brutal hits or injuries like you are a 5 year old  Good luck with not getting spoiled lol  Ruins the taste of exciting plots(does not have the surprise element, like really they start showing short scenes/sounds so you just can predict what’s going to happen easily, or they start to expose the plot slowly, unlike the manga)  Cannot be part of the 70% of one piece community (manga community) and participate in making theories with the rest of the world(actually most one piece fans switched to manga for above cons) Manga Pros:  A story where everything drawn is 100% part of the story(directly from Oda) and are drawn exactly how the storyteller/Oda wants you to see it(his concern is his masterpiece and the plots, not the money which all toe cares about)  Most drawings in the manga are just well done and beautiful, contrary to the anime which sometimes is better.  No filers or extended chapters or unnecessary drawings.  Transitions b/w fights/pages make predicting what’s going to happen very difficult. Also Oda’s transitions gives the plots more value(you get exposed to the plot instantaneously in one page or drawing)  Nothing is changed, censored, or hidden. You get to see it all as you should.  You can see the theories and predictions of the large manga community(actual one piece community). While anime-only can only make theories with himself(he cannot actually get deep into the story, if he tries, he will get spoiled lol). Cons:  Oda gives himself a break of 1 week after at most 3 consecutive chapters.  No colors, you get to imagine them(still Oda sometimes drops a colored page for the new characters so you get to see their colors) In conclusion, you are missing out on this masterpiece if you are not a manga reader

Hawkeye

It could be different from person to person. It’s like choosing between two different roads and both are awesome. For me, I think you should read it 100% But I could see why some people would not be happy about it because it will kill the surprise factor when you watch the anime

Hopetro

And you can safely watch the anime openings lol

Khalid Almudara

I would lovvvvve for you to react to the manga, not only because i am caught up with it, but here is the thing: I read and have read multiple mangas after catching up with the animes, i disagree with people saying manga is better than anime or anime is better than manga, it differs from anime to anime, if we take Demon Slayer for example, i would never dare to read the manga when the anime is this good and the drawing in the manga is ok it’s nothing special. Same with attack on titan before they change studios in season 4. I read aot only after changing studios just because it didn’t feel like how it used to, even though Mappa is great, the idea of watching something for 3 seasons and feeling so attached and then seeing substantial difference (not necessarily bad difference) doesn’t feel right knowing it’s not what I’m used to and what I started with but aot manga was bad at the beginning and it’s started to get better towards the end. In OP case, even though Wano looks way better than previous arcs, OP is a weekly anime and we have to understand that we can’t ask for consistent performance, we will only get some great episodes from time to time, and then there is the pacing issue since it’s a weekly anime and we gotta understand that’s how it works. However, OP manga is soo good and well drawn as you know, unlike aot with their weird faces and expressions lol. OP manga is something that is definitely worth reading, it one of the best drawings in manga (one punch man is the best drawing though). But to be fair, you’re gonna enjoy wether you continue watching or reading the manga, again it’s not the same from anime to anime and my personal opinion is that in case of OP I prefer reading the manga because it’s so good. In other cases, i would stick to the anime only.

Khalid Almudara

I agree with the comments above me that the anime for the majority of the episodes has a lower quality than themanga because they have to stretch out the content and with a few exceptions like the walk to Arlong Park or Episode 1015. What is unfortunate for you as a reactor is that you still could get spoiled so. The official translation of the chapter comes out on sunday and a fan based one usually on friday but first spoilers are circulating on monday. So many manga reactors have turned off their social media accounts but sometimes still get spoiledby mails or even from people on the street. Also if you watch the openings of the anime you could see that it is expected that you read the manga. That is why they contain so much spoilers in them.

S F

I'd say read from the start of the Wano arc! Toei really embellish certain parts (both in a good way and bad) and it's worth reading the arc purely in a manga form!

JI

Imo It definitely does makes episodes less enjoyable mostly because it drags out, to me it does tend to enhance some moments but also sometimes I feel like they adapt some moments poorly, though I still really like the anime overall. Although I dislike watching people react to anime they’ve already read the manga for, I would definitely really like to hear your thoughts on the chapters so I’d just be switching one for the other

Jay

Im not a manga reader so my concern is just regarding potential spoilers during your anime reactions. Altough im confident that you will make your best efforts to avoid that, the discussions with the community about the subject will surely have spoilers. My sujestions page in youtube is already a minefield for those due to manga youtubers that have little concern about what they put in their titles and thumbnails and im just worried that this will also happen here. That being said, since according to the poll a vast majority are manga readers, my opinion is less impactufull so just do what you think will bring more enjoyment to your experience. Thank you for all the content!

Tiago Lima

It might lessen the enjoyment of watching ur reaction to the anime (probably not) BUT imo it would be even more enjoyable to also watch and listen to your reactions, analysis and speculations to the latest manga releases weekly especially with how your mind runs when experiencing this story (it's why most of us follows ur journey). Hopefully u continue on with the latest manga releases, maybe you could also watch some analysis and theory videos about OP too once ur caught up that would be very interesting.

NocLucii

I've caught up with the manga and it doesn't diminish the experience at all for me. In fact, I actually think it heightens it. It makes it much easier to forgive badly paced or slower episodes because I'm not getting antsy waiting to see where the story is going. I already know where it's going! I can much more easily sit through the slower moments because, especially during the Wano arc, I can know with confidence that all of the biggest and best moments will be done justice with awesome animation. I'm really enjoying your "fresh" One Piece reactions but thinking ahead to some incredible stuff that probably won't even be animated for like, a year...I wouldn't begrudge anyone who wanted to read ahead.

Mischitary

Hahaha, I'm about five episodes behind in the anime. BUT I am caught up with the manga since last year. And really, for me, it hasn't ruined my experience but it has been more exciting. It makes me excited to think about how they will execute certain panels or the animation they will use, more so with the Wano animation 🔥 I being able to check theories and all that is fascinating. It's different from when you're anime only, but it gives you a new perspective of enjoying the story. Also, it’s this feeling of being part of the moment. It's fun. But whatever you decide, I'm here for you 😋 Love you! 🌸💕🌸

Ivette Palma

Thanks for sharing 🙏🏼 I’ll take everything into account when I make my decision

Animaechan

I believe that the manga "society" is more wide than the anime especially on YouTube and Twitter.

Roronoa zoro

I love long comments!! Of course, because I talk a lot it’s nice to read someone else’s well put thoughts 🙏🏼 Thank you!

Animaechan

At first I was afraid to switch to the Manga and I thought it will be less enjoyable but I found out that the manga is more enjoyable than the anime for different reasons such as every week there is a chapter and you will be excited to what will happen in every chapter, no bad pacing in the manga, making theories about the story, do expectations to what is coming in the story, the anime didn't adapt most of the panels in the manga perfectly or in an excellent way and you will see that when you read the manga, there is nothing to spoil at you, also I started to watch YouTube channels that making theories and expectations about the story and giving informations about the story making you more aware about the story more than anime. This is my experience when I switch to the manga and I recommend you to switch to the manga. Of course people will enjoy your reactions at the manga on YouTube and patreon also. I am sorry for the long comment.

Roronoa zoro

Personally I would switch to the manga so you can avoid spoilers. We're entering the end of the series and it's only going be crazy insane things from here on out. And as far as I've seen. There's very little good conversation going on among anime only viewers while the manga discussions have been amazing. Has the anime made it more enjoyable? Actually it kinda has. For one, there's been some small changes where it clarifies things better. Plus the animation is on a whole new level now. But I don't agree with some people who think the anime (wana arc) has been better overall. It's done a handful of things better sure but that's as far as I'll go. But then I'm also someone who has been reading the manga since 2006.

John Kauffman

Switching from anime only to catching up with the latest chapter in the manga had a negative effect on my experience watching the anime. One Piece is the first manga that I started reading and I was purely anime only. I was adamant about not reading the manga but I got spoiled of some events and didn't want that to continue to happen so I forced myself to read the manga. Since then it really depends on the series on which I prefer. Short series that are faithful to its manga I find the anime to be more enjoyable. I think early One Piece had a great pace. Taking about 2.5 chapters per episode. As it slowed down to 1 chapter and sometimes less than 1 chapter per episode it really started to suffer from a manga first anime second perspective. You know what's going to happen, what's going to come up that anything that deviates from the progression of the story that you know exist makes the drag that much more obvious. My remedy to this was to not watch the anime as it was coming out since the manga was still fresh in my mind but to watch it after enough time passes for my memory of what happened in the manga exactly starts to fade. It's not a perfect remedy but it has helped my enjoyment of the anime after switching to the manga. With that said, I wouldn't change my decision to become manga first for the world.

Jake from SF

i’m a HUGE manga Fan BUT I think the Anime is FAR FAR better then the Wano Manga, because constantly in the manga so many interesting and important things were quickly glossed over or happened offscreen!! (or just skipped over) The community has complained that the Wano Manga sadly feels like a story-bored for the anime because of how “fast” things happen. The anime slow pacing weirdly enough works really well for this one specific Arc, you really get to absorb everything. I’d recommend you read the manga in your own time from the start of the Raid (chapter 974) till where you are currently (chapter 1010) to make the best decision for yourself.

JoyBoy

I'm not watching any reactions to OP right now, all I'm doing is listening to a podcast where some guys talk about the chapter of the week and their theories. So if you read the manga it is something that definitely I would like. Sometimes I'd like to hear your thoughts on the story but being 3 hours a week of reactions is too much and it puts me off watching it. And I always say, I'll go back and look for only the parts I want to see but in the end I never do xD

Fernando

I think if you have read manga for any anime (generally), you start comparing and judging if anime was better or not. Of course the reason i don't read ahead

Izuku_Midoriya

I personally think it doesn't matter. I love waiting for a great chapter to get animated and seeing them do it justice. But I also love not knowing what's coming next and being blown away. Based on your poll results, I'd say do whichever you think you would enjoy most

J

Normally I'd say it doesn't really matter. But for reactions it's probably better to watch the anime first. If you know what is coming, it will definitely lessen the impact of story revelations, which leads to overall less enjoyable reactions imo.

TobstarNB

But it delivered on the moments that needed to be delivered. Not an episode having a flashback of something happened in the same episode. Just some moments of the top of my head that in my personal experience ruined my enjoyment Nami telling ulti that luffy will be the pirate king Roof piece getting split off with live floor stuff Tama's oshiroku flashback Carrot and Wanda having a full episode just to decide whether to fight perospero. Killer and zoro attacking kaido for the first time felt like a slideshow Big mom falling into the water when clearly jumbie stated water is his weakness in wci. That was probably my least fav toei moment by far Ice oni was dragged in the source material but the anime just took to another setp further. Luffy flying through the air in his base form like it's a DBZ match up Conquerer haki clash ruined by the vfx and all that golden hue. Edit this a reply to the person that deleted their comment. He asked but dressrossa have 50 episode of just running. And it's kinda my fault for setting these expectations.

i8Grapes

I still enjoy watching after reading the manga because the anime adds a lot of things that aren’t in the manga plus it’s enjoyable to see the still panels animated, so you still have something to look forward to.

Z

While I usually enjoy anime reactions more, I'm leaning more towards manga reactions this time. While the wano anime does add more stuff sometimes, I feel some scenes were not adapted as they should have. I know that could come off as ignorant, as you could say it's interpretation, but I'm sure some fans can relate, especially with the recent episodes. And the pacing and flashbacks can be annoying sometimes as well. I think it would be so fun to hear your thoughts and theories and see your reactions to the events in the manga. Just my take on this

Scrunor

First the anime and later the manga I think is the most enjoyable way

David

The manga is just better overall. Very rarely does the anime improve upon it, EP 1015 and 1017 being rare examples.

Joshua

I think many people, after they start the weekly episodes, do not want to read the manga because it is often the first manga they read and they do not like the manga style. But you've read a lot of manga chapters for One Piece, so I think you'd better continue reading the manga

MOHAMMED ABDULLAH

Imo Tbh since ep 1015, I have not enjoyed the anime. Alot of the moments that I was excited for fell flat for me in the anime. I been watching the anime since 2009 and even dressrossa didn't feel this dragged out weekly like the raid. The last 2 ep fillers has been more enjoyable, than these last episodes.

i8Grapes

The wano arc has been more fleshed in the anime in good ways generally. However there are some exaggerated stuff like auras etc that for me made it worse for now. You will understand if you read the manga until where you are now in the anime. Of course that is my personal preference and other people might feel differently. But for a complete opinion I should wait to judge it when it is over in the anime too. But yes the theorizing is the core of the one piece community so I believe you should read the manga and enjoy the anime afterwards but only if you read it reacting to it.

Alexandros Tsifilitakos

after you start reading the manga and then watch the anime, you will feel, annoyed at the anime for how they ruin the manga, I really believe that the people who works on the anime really have no idea what manga is about, you can see that with the filler scenes they add, it doesn't make any since, they just destroying what oda is building up, for example at the beginning of wano, when the scenes where was about to commit a seppuko, the fights after that are all filler, it's good they tell us what happened and how zoro ended up meeting luffy, but why would they have the sword he picked get broken? that doesn't make any since, the whole point of him training with mihawk was to make him strong so that he never break a sword, but here we have him break swords against fodders. there are so many instances like this where they fued up the idea.

Sultan

The anime has added a ton of scenes to Wano to make it longer so as to not catch up but has done them in a way that previous arca did not which is adding to the story and characters with non-canon scenes but nothing past act 2 feels like filler or intentionally stalling reaction shots and things like that. I would recommend reading the manga more for your own personal enjoyment however I can almost objectively say that apart from some very specific moments and episodes that in my opinion you will probably enjoy the anime less. 1015 comes to mind as an example. For context to be fair I haven't been a huge fan of the DBZ epilepsy insane changes the anime has made but it's all preference. I personally don't think your reactions will be affected much but you would know that better than we would, if you feel like you're not watching for the first time you wouldn't be as into it, etc. My point stands that I think you should read the manga and you will also still probably enjoy watching the anime if it continues how it has been during the latter half of Wano

KaedenKing

Well I guess the thing with the Anime/Manga is kind of a meme, because when you have read the manga you can see way easier the "toei" moments. But well sometimes the Anime (especially in wano) is just Overall better fleshed Out in many ways. I personally like it to watch both because on the one hand I know roughly when the Hype moments are coming (in the Anime) and at the same time I can therorize about the newest chapters^^

Vincent Baierl

The Wano anime has completely expanded upon the manga and enhanced a lot in Wano, Oda has skipped quite a lot in the manga sadly because of time constraints, a lot of the fights(I.E. Sanji vs Page One and X-Drake were skipped), most of the scabbards got half the time in the manga to develop, and The Oden Flashback was like 30% shorter. It is really interesting to see what the anime for Wano does to flesh out and add in order to have more context for certain scenes. it feels like a whole new experience watching the anime in my opinion, because you don't know what is gonna be added in certain scenes. I recommend reading tbh, a lot of people catch up to the manga after watching the series.
