The after talk you mentioned the CIA experiments, the main study was MK Ultra which was pretty messed up. Though it also reminded me of a comedy movie called "The Men Who Stare At Goats" with George Clooney and Ewen Mcgregor (Obi-wan), where its a story about the US Government funding research to make psychic spies and soldiers. Ewan plays a reporter trying to get a story about it years later, and Clooney was one of the psychic soldiers. I remembering it being good, but strange. There is a trailer on Youtube, who knows you might like it.

2022-12-18 04:12:46 +0000 UTCI watched Gremlins as a kid in the 90s I dont remember the sequel as clearly, but I remember liking it more than the first one. I think it had more crazy gremlin personalities.

2022-12-18 04:06:35 +0000 UTCI also feel thematically movies in the 80s were more gritty, there was a lot of movies with themes of urban decay, street gangs, and a lot of practical effects involved a lot of slime lol.

2022-12-18 04:05:25 +0000 UTCSomething about the 80s and early 90s movies. I think audiences had lower expectations and really didn't care about realism and just wanted to watch movies for fun. So studios were willing to produce random things more creatively. I feel movies like Jurassic Park raised the standard in 90s, and studios only wanted big blockbuster movies, and movies became more expensive so they didnt want to take risks.
