That's because I work in Manga Studio for the original drawing, but convert to Photoshop for coloring. Because Photoshop has better tools for warping text, I tend to do sound effects in Photoshop as a last step before sending them to Alex for coloring. Now, since I generally work in half-page installments, what often happens is when I'm done with the second half of the page, I use the Manga Studio version to produce the image that I post as a "first look" image. It's either that or give you a page that's half-color/half-black-and-white. As you'll note, when I go back and replace the b&w first-look image with the full-color final image — the sound effect returns. It was never really gone in the first place. Sometimes when the sound effect is important, I'll go grab it from the Photoshop-version top half of the comic and insert it. But if it's more incidental, I'll often skip it... knowing that it will soon be replaced by a final version. Does that make sense?
