Mammary Lane — Playboy submission
Added 2016-02-09 16:11:38 +0000 UTCSo, waaaay back in 2010, I got a wild hair to re-do some Courting Disaster cartoons without the restrictions that came with making it "newspaper-safe." The goal was to submit them to Playboy magazine. I contacted an acquaintance who had been regularly published there, and he told me that the editor preferred to get pencilled roughs. If they chose any of the submissions, they'd commission the final art.
So... from the deep archive, here's one of the cartoons I pitched to them.
Actually, the gag is still pretty solid. I may re-do this idea — but in a way that really drives home the double entendre.
By the way... now that Playboy has eliminated the nude pictorials from their print magazine, can anybody tell me if the cartoons have been similarly curtailed?
