Just wondering from what you asked a while back about Alien types - what about completely non-humanoid types? Something that's akin to, say, BOB from Aliens Vs Monsters? Or Alpha Centuri from Doctor Who Peladon adventures? Something that's pure energy, or symbiotic like Venom? Though I guess in that case, a crewmember could already be wearing/hosting said being and we just don't know it yet...
