Evil Inc After Dark... the graphic novel!

I'm prepping my first Kickstarter of 2017, and it revolves around the first print collection of Evil Inc After Dark! And I need your thoughts!

Title

So... my favorite title is "10/10 Would Thwart Again." But there's something about how that interacts with the image that makes me... uncomfortable. I can't put my finger on it, but it's hitting me weird. My second favorite is "The Gloves Are Off.""Graphic Novel" is cute, but it makes the cover look generic. And  I guess I could make the first book "After Dark," but once I change the logo, that's going to look repetative.I'm, of course, open to suggestions, if anything happend to come to mind!

Image

Hands down, I think this was some of the most gorgeous coloring Alex has ever done. We're going to have to re-work it. We're going to cover up her nipples and put some pants on her, but the cover I'm planning right now uses that commission as a wrap-around image that will continue on the back cover.

Logo

I'm going to have to be very careful about how I brand this. I don't want this to look like another Evil Inc graphic novel. So far, my favorite is the one I used on a ouple pf the test covers above.

Tell me what you think!

Comments

I am partial to the suggested "No Rest for the Wicked" as the title, with "The Gloves are Off" second. The "Thwart" titles just don't really do anything for me, I'm afraid. Regarding the logo, I actually really like the variation on the purple logo that someone on your Facebook page suggested -- that is, the one using the purple logo but reworked to show the crescent moon on the left side. I think that's an excellent idea.

Insatiabear

Ha! That's very creative!

Brad Guigar

"Lonely Thwarts Club: Banned" Then you need to come up with a bird-themed "Sgt. Pecker" narrator character to tie all the story-lines together.

Alpha Minor

This I like!

Ed Smallwood

I kinda love that one. :)

Brad Guigar

HA! You're on fire! Those are good!

Brad Guigar

Thwart me, hero, one more time?

Ste Beresford

...and I forgot how to spell thwart. Sorry about that.

I definitely like "Live Fast, Thwart Hard" the best, and I LOVE the purple logo.

Tora Productions

50 Shades of Thwart (sorry everyone, I know it's terrible but I couldn't resist)

Michael

Sorry. It slipped out. But seriously, "No Rest For The Wicked" is a winner, as is the purple logo.

"Episode 4: A New Grope"

When I saw how many of you liked the purple logo, I realized that I missed a pretty obvious variation... and it looks really good. Download — Purple logo.png — to have a look.

Ooh, one that just hit me: Evil Inc. After Dark; Thwarts And All. A bit punny but I like it.

Michael Obert

Well, you guys overwhelm me once again. I've gone from not having enough ideas to having an embarrassment of riches! Keep 'em coming!

Brad Guigar

Sooooo, the hardcover version... :) I gotta tell you, it is waaaay more expensive to print those than I expected! I haven't made up my mind one way for the other yet. It may end up being a stretch goal. On the other hand, if the response is through-the-roof, it may be something I can just automatically upgrade everyone above a certain level to. I'm waiting on a quote from one more printer, and then I'll have a better idea of what I'm grappling with.

Brad Guigar

really like the logo you used on the two small covers on the left, with the glove are off title . Any chance for a hard cover version?

Rene Gobeyn

The purple logo is my favorite. I also think the stars over her nips is a solid idea. For a title I'd go with Stripped Down and Ready to Thwart.

Michael Obert

I like the logo you used on the "Live Fast" cover, but I like "No Rest for the Wicked" title.

Kenneth G Smith

I like the logo that has the shadowing at the bottom of the "Evil Inc" and the top of the "After Dark" Definitely a great choice in cover pic, but instead of adjusting her costume to cover the nipples, how about just some stars like they use for online photos when they (news sites) report on leaked photos from hacked phones...that way the viewer can see the line of the zipper will show something is visible if the stars aren't there. For the nethers, putting the pants back on works, or you could just add panties...racy, but doesn't violate publication rules (look at catalogues for Victoria's Secret and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue)

Rick Greene

Brad, I liked the comment you made in the Surviving Creativity episode with Erica Moen, where you said After Dark was getting through 11 years of foreplay. Wonder if there's a nostalgic kind of element you can play into? "12 years in the making" (which I don't like) or "The waiting is over" (which is better, but doesn't pop). Anyhow, might be a different line of thinking to play with.

Josh Stevenson

I like "No Rest For The Wicked" a lot!

Brad Guigar

and I dig the purple logo, makes it instantly distinct from the SFW version but keeps it related.

Pens

Lovely colors, those eyes!. "No rest for the Wicked" or "Evil never sleeps" "Long nights, dark deeds"

Pens

I'm not sure "the gloves are off" really works when the most you can see of her gloves being off is on the back cover not the front

BlackDove

I like 'The Gloves Are Off' -- Sex -and- violence !!! LOL LOL

Chuck W

No worries. I'm gonna give her pant for the cover. :) But in the original, my thought was she removed her boots, then her pants, then put her boots back on. :)

Brad Guigar

And what's that?

Brad Guigar

Stupid messaging system. That question is, how did she get her pants off and keep the boots? Yeah, I'm a geek, and I've never really gotten the 'keeping the shoes on' kink so prevalent in porn.

Clell Harmon

I'm not sure I see it as 'rape-y' but the engineer in me is asking an important question.

Clell Harmon

Yyyyyup. I think you just put your finger on it.

Brad Guigar

it may not feel weird with modified pic. right now it kinda got a rapey vibe to it with her pose, look & clothes.

Harley Dennis

If you'd like to see how it looks on the cover, I added Live Fast Thwart Hard.png to the post.

LIVE FAST, THWART HARD! That's freaking amazing!!

Brad Guigar

EiAD: Live Fast, Thwart Hard...Or some variation. I kinda like the purple logo.

Michael

I'm partial to the bottom one
