August Report

Happy September everyone, thank you so much for making this work possible after the past month! Here's what we did this month: 

For this month's recap I'm starting with this newly colored last page of Ivy & Pine because the last 4 pages got completed at finally! I still need to do some work in the middle and some final consistency checks, but I'm gonna make a new post with all the recently updated pages so you all can see the progress I've made in the past few days!

I guess I've been wanting to draw Poppy again because I keep finding excuses to put her in illustrations. 

Poppy even appeared in a couple of the sketches that I'm putting in this dropbox update for Gold Tier! This month was really just a lot of figure sketching for me.

I think one of the most fun parts of this past month's work has been doing the pinups-- you all come up with great suggestions and I kinda want to keep drawing some of these characters, especially Leah 🖤

It was also fun to return to the form of the old hiker pinups and just draw with simple color and line.

I tend to start with intense restrictions on complexity and then let myself go a little bit before trying to rein things back in. I think It's time for me to cut back to simpler things because while I really enjoy the (nearly) final product of Ivy & Pine, sometimes I just get stuck with the full color comics for too long and they start to feel more of a burden than a fun indulgence.

I would love to  do more mini comics like the Korra x Asami format of a few months ago. Just short scribbly things to get an idea out with a simple look that doesn't take me months to complete.

 My high priority items for this month are:

✍ Experiment with some limited palette looks that might suit the next comic I make!🎨
