Process video — Watch me draw some scenes from the next Evil Inc After Dark

I'm looking for your thoughts on a Patreon reward. Feel free to scroll down. You'll see it in boldface.

A very kind patron dropped me a line to mention that they were surprised that I hadn't posted the latest ComicLab podcast* video from my YouTube channel, since it features some (SFW) scenes from the upcoming Evil Inc After Dark.

My first reaction was... "because I didn't think anyone would want it." But since it was compelling enough for a backer to mention it, I figured I'd post it and ask you your thoughts. Bonus — you get to hear me sing! Added irony, we talk about livestreaming!

But first, permit me to share some backstory.

I enjoyed doing livestream events for Patreon backers, but YouTube discontinued its Hangouts On Air app, and the new YouTube Live set-up requires me to use video capture software (like OBS) on my computer to feed the screen capture to the livestream audience.

I have an old computer. Running all of that causes my Wacom Cintiq to lag. I'm socking some money away for an equipment upgrade a few months, but until then, it's either YouTube Live or Crowdcast. And Crowdcast is more than thirty bucks a month. And I just don't do enough livestreaming to justify that.

Plus — as much as I have enjoyed some of the moments we've shared during the livestreams — the fact of the matter is that I'm much more efficient when I'm paying attention to what I'm doing. Additionally, I've noticed that although a handful of you show up for the livestream, the videos themselves get watched quite a bit after I post them here. (So maybe the "live" part isn't as important as I assumed.)

So, over the past few weeks, I've been recording screen captures (no sound) of my drawing process to (a) use for tutorials and (b) add to the ComicLab podcast audio to make the YouTube version of the podcast more visually interesting.

So, my question to you is...

Do you want me to post drawing-process videos here?

They will have no sound, but you will be able to see different comics and projects as they're being created.

* ComicLab is a weekly podcast I do with my friend Dave Kellett.

Comments

I'm usually at work when you post these, so I support the pre-recorded idea. They're a lot of fun to have in the background while working on other projects at home.

Mr. Nobody

If you go with Vimeo I think Patreon has a setup with them. They also allow NSFW content, so you can do process videos for SFW and NSFW for Evil Inc. This could be a lot of fun, But I will miss being able to chit chat with you and the rest of the chat.
