While I was writing this, I phoned my friend Dave Kellett, and we had a lot of fun brainstorming the roast-inspired conversation between the two cops. Many great lines just didn't make the cut, including...
- He's been behind bars longer than Sam Malone
- He's been behind bars longer than Isaac (if you're over 50)
- He's been in front of judges longer than Petri Hawkins-Byrd
- He's been behind bars so long he blinks sideways
- He's been cuffed more times than Shemp
- He's been arrested so often his fingerprints have a syndication deal
- He's been fingerprinted so often, he bleeds black
- When I arrested Miranda, he demanded his Salvatore Malocchio rights!
- Even his baby photos were front, left, and right
- Even his baby photos had a height chart in the background
- He's been in the back seat of more police cruisers than... well, now we're talking about your wife again

He's based on Reginald VelJohnson, best known for his roles as grouchy, unmotivated police officer Sergeant Al Powell in Die Hard; grouchy, unmotivated police officer Carl Winslow in the Fox show Family Matters; and grouchy, unmotivated police officer Detective Dave Sutton in the Tom Hanks film Turner & Hooch. He's done a few more films that stretched his range a bit, like his role as the jail guard in Ghostbusters, Captain Graff in Plain Clothes, Detective Bob Hymes in One Of Her Own, Probation Officer Art Stevenson in 12 Dog Days Til Christmas, and the Judge on It's Always Sunny In Philidelphia, proving that the man has a range that extends beyond being a funny but unmotivated cop with a poor attitude, to instead be a funny version of anyone in law enforcement with a poor attitude.
