If you re watch episode 2 many characters in the past few episodes appear there but as their older selves. Jiang Cheng is the younger guy in purple with the whip in episode 2. Jin Zixuan, who is Wei Wuxian's adopter sister's fiance, is related to the boy in yellow in episode 2 as well. I'm not gonna spoil how they are related cause you'll see soon.
