SHINee always shines when it comes to live performances! Their soulful voices are very soothing, especially in 'Don't Let Me Go.'

SHINee - Prism & Don't Let Me Go Live Performance Reaction

Would really love to see you guys react to more SHINee live performances from their concerts! As much as I love their music show performances, they’re very limited in showcasing their full potential as music performances are always rushed through because of producers & film crew having to go through so many artists. This is a performance with their song ‘SHINe, Stranger, & Picasso’ from their SHINee World Concert IV which is a continuation of the performance you guys reacted to for Sherlock (Clue + Note) https://youtu.be/_GUFVctHUik?si=3D_jBfvY_89Ts9V3 Please react!! :)

Prism is actually considered to be part of the holy trinity of SHINee b-sides along with Symptoms and Odd eye (all written by Jonghyun, by the way), it's a fan favorite. I can actually think of a bunch of SHINee performances where they don't move at all, it's usually ballads but it's not limited to that. SHINee has enough vocal skills and stage presence with each member that they don't NEED to dance to keep the audience engaged. Some examples are: Aside (SWC6 24.05.25) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzWwT3wVgC4 , Colors of the season (SWC6 24.05.25) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RzMl0Gb4eU , An Ode To You (SWC4) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFr6wH1zcFE , Better off (SWC4) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWYFGXZaae0 , One (SWC4) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLXx-1ksTps , Love (SW2016) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3Ta7N3H_DE , Better (SW2012) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Usd6cjLlp_A , Aside (SWC5) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYQbMjXVIao , An encore (SWC5) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbVdEW--8p0 , Don't let me go (SWC5) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EEDmeJQGik , Countless (The Shining) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-dZzIT2mGM , Colors of the season (SW2013) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbT1_JIRmys , Farewell my love (SWC5) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HifTVTthhWU , I'm with you (SW2013) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FTlOZ5iz5U , Life (1st concert in Japan) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-9QGCdYHkM, Kiss kiss kiss (SW2012) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OrosqrN3D0 , Moon River waltz (SW2014) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngS7zgZs2lc , Love (SW2014) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRhOwwV97UI (This one is with a full orchestra), Quasimodo (1st concert in Japan) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ib35Ii6T5hw , Orgel (SWC3) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHInx0Ga3yM , One (1st concert in Japan) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgnIBkM7kWQ , SEASONS (Bistro de SHINee) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DBeRqEWfQE , Romantic (1st concert in Japan) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXHqDlf3PuI , Sleepless (Can't leave) (SWC3) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzc43LljSJs . So... I might have went a little overboard with the amount of recommendations... but they're all so GOOD...

Don't Let Me Go is essentially a ballad so they never really dance during such slower songs, although yes, they'd usually walk or move around at least a little bit during concerts instead of standing completely still like here, but I do like it, that together with their facial expressions adds to the feels. I guess not many groups promote with ballad songs at all so that might add to the reason you haven't seen such performance yet (mind you SHINee has done more like this tho). And I do love their styling from this era, they always look good but they looked extra good here imo haha. More performances from 1 of 1/1 and 1 era for your reference: Feel Good: https://youtu.be/aac7lMEiZvU Feel Good + 1 of 1 (Same performance of FG as the oher one if you'd prefer a joint stage): https://youtu.be/qhm6hRaSMXk 1 of 1 (different from above): https://youtu.be/2q-09GX4X2U Tell Me What To Do (with choreo/choreographed by Taemin): https://youtu.be/jzSeM0guEWg Prism + Tell Me What To Do: https://youtu.be/nVTjA-4TpyM But for TMWTD I'd actually rather recommend the one from Blue Night (Jonghyun's late night radio show): https://youtu.be/ZuWJIZLPylE They just sing in the studio with no dancing but it's so wholesome and awesome to see. You'd get a glimpse of their personalities and them being goofy together lol.

Totally agree that they don't need any backing track, but it's just how it is at music shows particularly, and even so it's nothing compared to how much of it is used nowadays. Back then groups would sing live more, and SHINee is one of the few that still does so more consistently than others. Newer groups were super impressed by them partially singing Don't Call Me and fully singing Hard live at their MMA performance last year (having performed bits of other 3-4 songs before that) which is not much compared to what they do in concerts but nowadays music shows are either full on lipsync or super heavy backing track even for songs where there's minimum to no movement. I won't call names but there's been cases particularly among 4th gen where they literally sit still and are still iipsyncing. That SHINee MMA2023 performance (intro with bits of Sherlock, View, Dream Girl and Everybody + full stages of Don't Call Me and Hard) is definitely worth checking out by the way! https://youtu.be/C8mU9iHnbus and other idol reaction to it sort of went viral where every group attending the show were standing throughout whole SHINee's performance (including aespa, New Jeans and others): https://youtu.be/C4rEi-nBezg It's however only with 3 members as Onew was on hiatus due to health reasons until recently. The newest show performance that blew up is the one at MBC's HangoutWithYoo that I'd also recommend. We finally got all 4 of them performing Hard (other than at a concert) and a bunch of other legendary songs like Sherlock, Lucifer and Ring Ding Dong: https://youtu.be/5UoDn3xAe6k EDIT: almost forgot but another recent thing that came out was Onew feature on a show called 'Song Stealer' it's a show where another artist covers a song of the original singer and tries to 'steal it' while the original singer is trying to defend it, so they both perform the same song and then the audience gets to vote who did it better :D Onew got to perform 2 SHINee songs Love Like Oxygen and Dream Girl but the segment with Dream Girl was especially cool as NMIXX girls (Lily and Sullyoon) tried to steal it and they did an amazing job, but our leader Jinki covered the parts of all 5 members by himself(!), anyhow it's an awesome concept and live singing: https://youtu.be/aW2UIMovd-I
