I mean during the fight akame legit said she tried to convince kurome and Then kurome gave her reason why she wouldn’t leave for the sake of her dead companions and akames reasoning wouldn’t get through to her so that made sense my guess is the anime killed her off since she was already dying and had that final battle to end their arc to solve their problems
