Figured I might post something like this as people have enjoyed the thoughts behind stuff in the past :3
Before closing a pic sometimes ill try and sit back and evaluate where im putting my efforts and whether im spending time in the right parts of an image. I can easily get too focused on one area and put too much effort into it, hence making it too stand-out when something more subdued would work better.
Circled the key areas to get more detail in. With lewd work its fairly obvious most of the time, but, faces and hands are always important. Next up secondary aspects which draw attention around an image. For instance, my rendering mind wants to detail the entirity of both tails, when really just highlighting the tip or a few edges would work equally well.
I also want to cluster details, say like tree decorations or above the fireplace. Make interesting little areas and enough simple space between them. Blurring later will also make non-zones fade back and help simplify. Basically trying to stop myself drawing things for the sake of decorating, and instead place things interestingly... atleast thats how ill try to continue on :3
