Hmmn.. how to explain. I think its about trying to objectively look at the shape youve drawn and consider whether it feels like it has actual mass. Drawing cubes is a good fundamental practice, where if you truely focus on making a cube feel -solid- and like it occupies a true -squared- space, you train your eye to consider if your forms are properly reading. A cubes a simple example, but going from there, taking simple forms and applying contors to them, seeing if you can convince your brain that a 2D surface is 3D in some way
