Recognized But Unrecognizable

Bubba is being recognized by his former college football team with a very rare and high honor - a jersey retirement ceremony. But who is this impossibly fat stranger who is claiming to be Bubba? Everyone knows Bubba put on quite a bit of weight after he stopped playing but the man before them is so fat his belly drags across the ground and can knock over podiums! Surely that can't be Bubba, can it? But seeing Bubba's old letterman jacket adorned with all his many accolades certainly confirms that the impossibly fat man before them is in fact, Bubba. His former teammates, some of whom let themselves go as well, watch in awe that the star athlete could get so fat while the staff worry about how he's even going to fit through the doors.

Oh so happy with this piece. As you can tell I love a good ex-jock reunion-type setup as this is not my first attempt at drawing this. But I haven't done it at this scale with a fancy evening and celebration. I really appreciate everyone who encouraged me to keep working on this drawing. This is one I'll be proud of for years to come I believe. I've been working on a story to accompany it as well, but writing is not my strong suit so that has been slow going but I'm really trying to get this one done!
