Adventures in GPU Melting

I've finally done it. I've created something so hot I fried my video card. Unfortunately it's too late at night for me to go buy another so I'll have to wait until morning. So regular updates will continue but today's post must wait until tomorrow. The good news is that I'll be upgrading the card from a 780ti to a 1080ti. Something I've bern meaning to do that will make rendering faster and thus increase the overall quality and efficiency of my work. Im posting this from my phone BTW. I'm so sad :(

A new card is going to cost you more that you think. The Bitcoin miners are buying up all the video cards, witch is emptying the shelves in most of the stores. I really hope you find one at a good price. GOOD LUCK:-).

I'd be lying if I didn't say im a bit excited to see how it handles rendering. I render animations overnight but I actually monitor the still image renderings so I can adjust things based on how it looks rendered and then re-render to assure best lighting. So a card that can get me through that process faster means I can put more detail and adjust lighting for the best result. Leaving now to go pick up the card!

Sorry to hear that, but I also feel a little bit guilty of being happy since better video card = faster render speed = which I'm hoping speed up game release? hehe

This is both funny and very sad... Salutes GPU....

Yeah i just noticed the price hike :( but I can justify the cost thanks to all my awesome supporters! Im excited to see how it will effect renderings. Im already imagining the productivity and quality gains :D I've always feared this would happen. When i render the pages or game elements, if i do it for several hours straight the computer heats up scary hot. I have to clean it often to keep air flow going and many times point fans at it and turn down my ac :P
