[MHCISQD] Chapter 277: Four-way Battle

Among the top ten Pro Heroes, based solely on power, Ryukyu could rank at least sixth. Heroes like Mirko and Wash can't compare to her strength.

However, the ranking on the official list is determined by three aspects—the completion rate of hero incidents in the past year, social contributions, and public support.

Renault estimated that while Ryukyu may surpass several heroes in the first two criteria, she might still lag behind in public satisfaction.

Gang Orca is a perfect example. He has the power and has done a lot, but his intimidating appearance makes him look like a villain, and he lacks a sufficient fan base.

"Unfortunately, that's how the rules work," Renault said with a hint of helplessness. "Back when All Might was around, the rankings didn't matter much. But now, it's not enough to rely solely on rankings. Villains are becoming more prominent, and strength is what truly matters."

As Renault glanced at the Pro Heroes speaking on stage, he recalled the power of the Nomu and the strength of Shigaraki and his League of Villains.

If they were to face the Nomu from the Stain incident, these heroes could put up a fight without much pressure. However, if they were to encounter Nomu like the thirty he faced before or the first Nomu that appeared who were significantly stronger than the regular ones, Renault suspected that several of these top ten heroes would be in serious trouble.

Finally, it was time for No.2, Hawks. He seemed completely relaxed in the face of such a grand occasion.

Walking to the front, Hawks smiled and said, "You know, I just can't understand why all of you are still fixated on the past. The symbol is gone now, and in this critical moment, shouldn't we be focusing on making heroic and inspiring statements?"

Spreading his enormous wings, Hawks slowly ascended into the air, propping his chin up with one hand.

His words diverted the attention of the other Pro Heroes who had spoken before.

Watching Hawks on television, Renault couldn't help but be speechless. "This guy really doesn't shy away from big things. Even though everyone was avoiding the topic, he actually brought it up himself."

That's just Hawks's personality, never afraid of the spotlight.

The students from Class A, knowing that Renault had interned with Hawks and heard about his character, found his actions surprising but expected.

After a brief speech, Hawks floated over to Endeavor and said with a smile, "My turn is over. Now it's your turn, Number One, the one below me in public support."

Endeavor, who had been standing quietly on the side, looked at Hawks's outstretched hand, patted the palm, and walked past him towards the microphone.

As he gazed at the sea of people below, Endeavor's expression turned serious. He clenched his fist and said, "What is the purpose of a hero's strength? The answer to this question is undoubtedly simple. Actions speak louder than words. I invite all of you to witness my future performance."

In the audience, aside from the reporters, many Pro Heroes were present, and none of them were strangers to Endeavor on the stage.

Likewise, everyone knew that Endeavor had been trying to surpass All Might and become No.1 for quite some time.

People expected Endeavor to make some provocative statements today. But unexpectedly, he didn't reveal any flaws and even gave the impression that he really belonged in the No.1 spot.

After listening to Endeavor's speech in the center of the stage, Hawks was the first to clap and smile.

Following Endeavor's speech, various announcements followed, all in a chaotic manner, such as the committee's exams and supervision of Pro Heroes for the next year - stuff that had nothing to do with Renault and his group.

Renault turned off the television and noticed Todoroki, who was bowing his head, lost in thought. It seemed to be related to Endeavor's recent statement.

Renault was one of the few who knew about Todoroki's family situation, but he could only be a listener in such matters and wouldn't offer any advice. The course of action would depend on the person involved.

Stretching and yawning, Renault got up and addressed Todoroki, Bakugo, and Midoriya, saying, "The press conference is over, and we still have plenty of time today. Why don't we have a battle training, a spar? I'll do work study tomorrow, so I won't have time."

Bakugo was the first to stand up, with an excited smile on his face. "I'm always ready for battle!"

Though Todoroki had been lost in thought earlier, he quickly snapped out of it and followed suit. "I'm good to go."

As for Midoriya, although he initially felt unlucky for being drafted, he had also adjusted his mindset and was ready to go without hesitation.

Seeing this, the others decided to join in as well.

Having training during break time was not allowed originally, but the rules had been relaxed, with the only requirement being to inform the homeroom teacher in advance, who also had to be present.

Aizawa stood on the sidelines, observing the four individuals positioned at the corners of the training ground, along with a group of Class A students spectating beside him. He sighed helplessly and muttered, "Can't I just have a day of rest?"

But it was just a casual complaint. He was quite curious to see the progress these students had made over the past few days, especially the three besides Renault.

After all, Renault's strength was unquestionable, so there was no need to worry about him losing.

Hmm, as a teacher, is it not right to think this way?

Aizawa shook his head and raised his voice. "Four-way battle, make sure you all control your strength and don't use ultimate moves. Stop when I say so, understood?"

The four nodded.

"Alright, let's begin!"

With that command, Midoriya, who was standing in place, immediately assumed a combat stance.

However, the next second, he saw Todoroki and Bakugo charge toward Renault simultaneously, and the three of them engaged in a melee.

"..."

"Hey, Midoriya! What are you doing?"

"Get in there!"

Midoriya, drenched in a cold sweat, glanced at his classmates who were enjoying the spectacle on the sidelines. Unable to bear it any longer, he charged in as well.

Since it was a free-for-all, he didn't bother with too many strategies and simply engaged all three opponents at once.

"Oh? Midoriya's joining too."

Renault lightly chuckled upon seeing Midoriya, whose body emitted a faint, dazzling emerald electrical aura, rapidly closing in. Renault leaned back and grabbed Bakugo's right hand as he swung a punch, then spun around, tossing him towards Midoriya.

Meanwhile, Todoroki, who was charging forward on an ice path with a ball of flame in his hand, met Renault head-on.
