[MHCISQD] Chapter 368: Itchy to Fight
Added 2023-08-21 20:38:19 +0000 UTCJust after hanging up a call, Renault's phone buzzed again.
This time, it wasn't anything serious. The person on the other end was questioning about Midoriya again and wanted him to join in.
But Renault, who already knew what had happened, had no intention of going. He simply replied briefly and then lay down like a dead body in the room.
No choice there; experiencing a 'battle' with two girls simultaneously for the first time was quite tiring.
Tonight was the last night of everyone's vacation here, and surprisingly, nothing particularly eventful happened.
Early the next morning, after breakfast, everyone finally left the hot springs inn and the small town where they had spent two days. They boarded the same bus and headed back to Tokyo.
Before noon, Renault and his group were back home. Besides the four of them, Yaoyorozu had also come over.
"Aren't you going back home?" Renault asked.
"I'll head back in the evening. What are we having for lunch?" Yaoyorozu replied, sitting on the couch.
"We're out of groceries. You guys rest first; I'll go buy some." Renault said, putting his luggage in the room. Yuriko followed him downstairs.
"I'll go with you."
Renault looked at Yuriko unexpectedly, and then without refusing, he left Mikoto and the other two to tidy up at home.
With Yuriko, Renault rode his motorcycle to the nearest supermarket, bought a variety of groceries and some last-minute items, and then returned home.
Even after coming back, Yuriko stayed by Renault's side, helping out in the kitchen.
This piqued Renault's curiosity, and he somewhat guessed that there might be some request or matter she wanted to bring up.
"What's up? Do you have something to tell me? You're being unusually attentive today."
After putting the washed rice into the rice cooker and setting the timer, Yuriko finally spoke up, "When can I have a match against that Kadoya Tsukasa?"
"Feeling itchy to fight, huh? Well, if you're up for it, we can practice this afternoon."
Yuriko didn't refuse, but she said, "I want to try fighting different opponents, to find opportunities to break through."
So, she was frustrated with the current stagnation.
Renault nodded, showing understanding.
In fact, it had been a while since both Yuriko and Renault himself had made any significant progress.
While Renault could use this time to develop some flashy Ultimate Moves, it wasn't really necessary for Vector Manipulation. Its unique nature meant that straightforward approaches worked best.
But since Yuriko had brought it up again, Renault wouldn't disregard his younger sister's request. After all, he had promised her a while ago.
"Alright, I get it. Let me think. How about tomorrow? I'll request to use the school's training facility and take you to the school for a practice match against Tsukasa."
After Renault said this, Yuriko finally smiled and nodded in satisfaction, then continued helping Renault prepare lunch.
After lunch, Renault first contacted Tsukasa. Once he agreed to the training match with Yuriko, Renault then contacted Aizawa, explained the situation, and requested the use of the training facility.
Aizawa didn't object after hearing the plan; he agreed to the request to use the training facility. At the same time, he wanted to gauge Tsukasa's upper limits.
Previously, when testing Tsukasa's abilities, Aizawa had stepped in, but his Erasure Quirk had no effect on Tsukasa, who was a Kamen Rider. The battle relied on their close combat skills.
However, without the advantage in abilities, relying solely on close combat, Aizawa couldn't gain any upper hand against Tsukasa.
After all, Tsukasa had traveled through several Rider worlds, battling various Kaijin and Riders, possessing an immensely rich experience in combat.
And now, at this very moment, Renault's call came in, and it was about Yuriko, who also possessed Vector Manipulation just like Renault, to face off against Tsukasa.
This time, it should provide a better opportunity to observe Tsukasa's true strength.
With Renault's assurance and Principal Nezu's observation, it was pretty much confirmed that Tsukasa could be trusted. And if his strength happened to be even greater than expected, that would be even better.
After confirming this, Renault also informed Yuriko in the living room.
"Tomorrow afternoon, let's go to the school together. Tsukasa will be waiting there."
"I'm looking forward to it." Yuriko replied with an excited expression.
The conversation between the two people also caught the attention of the other three.
"Going to school tomorrow?" Yaoyorozu was the first to ask.
Renault answered, "I promised Yuriko that she would have a match against Tsukasa."
"Oh!" Mikoto exclaimed with excitement, "Can I join too? I want to practice!"
Yuriko glanced at Mikoto and straightforwardly said, "First come, first served. Get in line."
"Seriously?"
Seeing the situation, Mikoto realized her chances were probably slim again. "I'm going to take an exam later, so I need some practice opportunities for better preparation. You run a bookstore; why do you need someone to spar with?"
"Just maintaining my condition..." Yuriko replied with a simple shrug and continued bantering.
Watching Mikoto's expression, Yuriko gestured to Renault.
Shrugging, Renault patted Mikoto's head to reassure her, "Don't worry, you'll definitely get a chance to participate tomorrow."
"Really?"
"Do I gain anything from lying to you?"
Naturally, Renault had a plan. Let Tsukasa summon a few Riders for training. It was a breeze.
Once this idea was out, Renault inexplicably felt that Decade Complete Form didn't really have much of a presence.
Well, it didn't matter. Mikoto's happiness was more important.
With Renault's promise, Mikoto smirked at Yuriko.
Yuriko, however, remained unfazed, and casually sipped her coffee. Then, in a lowered voice, she said, "Such an easily fooled kid."
It seemed that the so-called intelligence of Mikoto, as evident in the past when orchestrating Renault and Yaoyorozu's relationship, had disappeared for some unknown reason.
Probably because Misuzu wasn't around to assist her this time.
The afternoon went by lazily in the living room, as everyone lounged around the heater, watching TV shows.
Yuriko didn't propose any training for the afternoon; she focused on adjusting her mood and condition, clearly looking forward to tomorrow's battle.
Come dinnertime, Yaoyorozu didn't stay to eat, departing with the car her family driver brought.
After washing the dishes, Yuriko took an early shower and then headed straight to her room to rest, not lingering as always.
It seemed she was quite excited for the upcoming match and needed to get into the right state of mind.
Observing Yuriko's actions, Mikoto thought for a moment and then decided to follow suit. Once back in Renault's room, she shooed him away, saying, "Tonight, just go with Mikumo. I need to adjust my condition."
