[MHCISQD] Chapter 374: New Teacher
Added 2023-08-27 20:24:19 +0000 UTC"You've all faced villains early on, but I need to tell you that the world ahead will be even more unstable. A new and formidable organization has emerged. I hope you'll be mentally prepared during your off-campus work studies. Also, don't become overconfident in your abilities. When it's time to rely on the senior staff at the office, don't hesitate. Don't wait until the end for us teachers to collect your corpses."
His words left no room for comfort.
Renault was also surprised. He had thought the school might cancel the off-campus work studies, but they were proceeding as usual.
Judging by the appearance of the school, it seemed they were determined to put everyone through some tough trials.
After delivering his harsh words and getting everyone on edge, Aizawa continued, "But don't worry, as a teacher, I won't actually send you to your deaths. I'll adjust based on the level of your respective offices, giving you more thorough training while ensuring a certain level of safety."
Well, it's a certain level of safety, not 100% safety.
Under Aizawa's words, everyone felt more and more uneasy.
Unable to hold back, Ashido crossed her arms and said, "Aizawa-sensei, after you put it this way, I feel like I can't even go for a work study anymore!"
"Sure, if you don't dare to go, you can report it to me and I'll cancel it for you. Of course, as a consequence, you won't be able to earn points in that aspect, and there's a high chance you'll be deemed unfit by the end of the term."
"Why is it like this?!"
"Because that's reality." After saying this, Aizawa scanned the group, "To become a Pro Hero, you must face unexpected dangers that can strike at any time. If you can't even withstand this level of danger, it's better to give up early."
Indeed, Aizawa intended to use the Shocker incident to truly toughen up these students.
As for the mention of 'collecting corpses' and such, it was all to scare them. Before they went for their off-campus work studies, the school had already reviewed the offices receiving these students. It wouldn't be possible for students to encounter life-threatening situations during their work studies.
If the offices weren't capable, U.A. wouldn't allow the students to go there.
For Class A, apart from Bakugo who never feared anything, the seemingly emotionless Todoroki, and Renault as well as Yaoyorozu who had known about the situation, the rest of the class felt like they had been on a roller coaster ride. It wasn't until the end that they regained their composure and strengthened their confidence.
Though still a bit anxious, they mostly believed the school wouldn't send them to their deaths.
The class meeting ended, and the next was the morning's regular classes, leaving them no time to discuss the topic.
It wasn't until lunchtime, during their meal break in the cafeteria, that they began to talk about it.
Kirishima picked up a large piece of pork chop and chewed while saying, "Isn't Aizawa-sensei underestimating us? Our strength has improved a lot compared to before!"
Bakugo chimed in, "That guy's just trying to scare us. Look at you all acting so timid!"
While sipping her yogurt, Ashido countered, "You can't put it that way, Bakugo. Perhaps there really is some evil organization that's struck fear into U.A. and the Pro Heroes? Like that All For One guy from the battle of Kamino?"
Ashido's words left Bakugo at a loss for a counterargument.
Indeed, if a villain like All For One truly appeared, that would be genuinely terrifying. With their current abilities, they wouldn't be able to handle it.
Jiro pondered for a moment, then looked across at Renault and asked, "Renault-kun, it seems like you've never been worried about this matter?"
"Yeah!" Ashido chimed in, looking at Renault who was leisurely enjoying his ramen on the other side. "It's been like this since the morning. You've had this carefree attitude. Could it be that you know something behind the scenes and have been laughing at us? And Yaomomo, you too. You must know something, so you're not worried at all, right?"
"!" Seated beside Renault and holding her chopsticks, Yaoyorozu's hand trembled slightly, almost dropping her chopsticks.
How does this girl read people's expressions so accurately?
After taking a bite of his noodles, Renault wiped his mouth with a tissue and then turned to the four people across from him. "I do know some things. Aizawa-sensei mentioned a formidable villain organization does exist."
"How strong are they?" Bakugo straightforwardly asked.
"Their strength..." Renault considered for a moment before responding, "Their lowest-tier fighters are about four to five times stronger than regular people. Let's not even discuss that level. As you move up, they're mostly on the level of Pro Heroes. If it's Kirishima, he should be able to handle them one-on-one. Bakugo and Todoroki, you guys can probably handle 2-3, but more than that would be tough. Of course, this is just the mid-tier villains we're talking about."
"Nani! (What!)" Ashido Mina imagined for a moment and her whole demeanor became more intense. "Even Bakugo and Todoroki can only handle two each, and that's just mid-tier? What kind of organization is this?"
Renault shook his head, not delving further into that topic. "Instead of dwelling on this, it's better to think about how to improve your own strength. For instance, Ashido, if you develop your Quirk well, you can definitely triumph over the stronger opponents."
"I know that, but developing a Quirk is really tough!" Ashido leaned back in her chair, losing her appetite.
After listening to Renault's explanation, Todoroki asked, "Have you fought against them?"
"I have. I won that time, but they didn't send out their strongest forces. However, you guys shouldn't worry too much. Pro Heroes are at the forefront of dealing with these matters. It won't be our job as students to confront them."
"But if we're going for off-campus work studies, there's a chance we might encounter them, right?"
True, there's a chance, maybe even a high one.
Bakugo grinned with confidence. "Whether they're the League of Villains or some other mysterious organization, if they dare show up in front of me, I'll just blow them up!"
Renault nodded with a smile. "Exactly. With Bakugo's attitude, we're good. Besides, when we go for off-campus work studies, we won't be acting alone, so it's unlikely anything will happen. Have faith in yourselves."
The group exchanged glances, then refocused their energy on training, preparing for the possible appearance of villains.
In the afternoon, it was combat class.
When all of Class A put on their hero costumes and gathered at the training grounds, they noticed a familiar face standing beside Aizawa and All Might.
"Ahh! It's the service worker from that inn?"
"Why are you here?"
Tsukasa, now wearing a black suit and a red shirt, smiled and looked at Aizawa.
Aizawa addressed the group, "Even though you've met him before, let me reintroduce him. This is our new teacher for U.A.'s combat class, Kadoya Tsukasa. He'll be in charge for a temporary period."
"And once next semester starts, he'll be the homeroom teacher for the first-grade Hero Department."
"Meaning, he's a Pro Hero too?"
Aizawa nodded, "Yes, his hero name is 'Decade.' You might not have heard of him, but in terms of strength, he's definitely not worse than the top ten heroes on the rankings. Today's lesson is about experiencing the power of a top-tier Pro Hero. Back in the day, All Might only sparred with Midoriya and Bakugo during combat class, and even the other teachers, including me, had their limitations and often held back to some extent. But not today."
All Might brought out a ballot box at the right time. "Let's get started. Following the order of the ballots, you'll face off one-on-one."
Except for Renault, everyone's throat went dry.
This situation didn't seem very promising. This combat class might be pushing them to their limits.
