[MHCISQD] Chapter 383: Careless and Comfort

The police and Pro Heroes arrived swiftly, but Renault and his team already dealt with the villains.

It was the three girls who mostly took action. If Renault had intervened, it would have been over in an instant.

Thirty Shocker Combatmen lay on the ground, immediately apprehended by the officers.

However, the Kaijin who had been commanding these Combatmen had been completely destroyed by Renault, leaving only two mantis arms.

The situation was indeed tricky, but after communicating with Ryukyu and U.A., it was resolved.

With these Combatmen here, they should be able to gather some information.

The following scene cleanup didn't require Renault and his team. Ryukyu had them temporarily relieved of duty and called them back to the office.

Upon their return, the four of them headed to Ryukyu's office.

Ryukyu had been waiting there for a while, and upon seeing that all four were safe and sound, she breathed a sigh of relief.

"I really didn't expect you guys to run into this on your first day. And it's not even half a day yet."

Renault casually grabbed a bottle of juice from Ryukyu's fridge and said, "I think it's pretty normal. Just gotta get used to it."

Shocker, after all, wasn't the League of Villains or the Meta Liberation Army. They liked causing trouble. Chaos was their bread and butter.

Ryukyu wasn't aware of the situation at the scene earlier, but when the four of them returned, Uraraka and Tsuyu began explaining.

Renault sipped his juice, and surprisingly, Hado remained unusually quiet.

Renault knew what this meant for Hado, but for now, he decided to keep quiet and just drink his juice.

Ryukyu, however, quickly figured out why Hado's mood had changed.

After learning the full story, Ryukyu came over to Hado, stroking her long hair, and said, "You, you're usually so carefree, but at least you can be relied upon when it's important. But your performance today was indeed not great and careless. You should be more careful in the future. It's good that Renault is with you, but he can't always help you at any moment, you know?"

Hado nodded, casting a glance at Renault, who was busy looking away, engrossed in his phone.

Hado became even more frustrated. She was a girl, couldn't he cut her some slack?

But as she remembered her own actions earlier, those words remained unspoken.

Ryukyu also noticed that Renault was irritated because Hado had been careless, but she felt that this matter was something the two of them needed to resolve on their own.

With the situation understood, Ryukyu let the four of them rest in the office until their afternoon shift.

They had their own dedicated break room, but on the way there, Hado grabbed Renault's shirt, preventing him from moving forward.

After glancing at Hado, Renault sighed softly and said to Uraraka and Tsuyu, "You guys go ahead. I need to talk to Senpai."

Following that, the two of them proceeded to the second-floor hallway of the office building.

Watching the gloomy Hado, Renault decided to speak up first. "You know you messed up today, right? If it weren't for me joining you today, and someone else teamed up with you, I'd probably only see you at your funeral next time."

He couldn't help but think that Hado wouldn't have been able to dodge the Mantis Kaijin's attacks from that distance. If he were not there, the funeral would be a reality.

"I... I know I messed up..." Hado replied, hanging her head, lacking the manners expected of a senpai.

Taking a cue from Ryukyu's actions earlier, Renault ruffled her hair gently. "Senpai, you should have received notices from the school. Shocker is no pushover, especially those Kaijin. They're skilled; you can't underestimate them."

"I know, okay! Why are you still talking about that?" Hado pouted, glaring at Renault. "I was really scared, and you scolded me already, isn't that enough? Can't you just comfort me a bit?"

Renault gave her an odd look. "Hmm... How do you want me to comfort you?"

It seemed to Renault that in this situation, scolding Hado a bit more might make her remember better to not repeat the same mistake. But since she was a girl who always used feeling first rather than logic, he had to listen to what she had to say first if he didn't want this matter to escalate further.

"Hehehe..." Hado grinned at Renault. "Um, how about making me a big dinner tonight when we get back to school? I really need a good meal to comfort my injured soul!"

Renault rolled his eyes. "In your dreams! You need a good lesson right now, and you want a big dinner? Keep dreaming!"

"Aww..."

The next moment, Hado's eyes welled up with tears. She held onto the sleeve of Renault's right hand and swayed it back and forth.

Renault couldn't bear it and finally gave in. "Okay, okay, fine. I'll make it for you, just stop that."

"Really?"

"Would lying to you benefit me?"

"If you lie, I won't permit you to cook for me."

"...Alright, then I won't cook."

"Just pretend I didn't say anything!" Hado wiped her tears away, a smile returning to her face. "Let's go back to the lounge!"

Women's moods change faster than the weather.

As they walked back to the lounge, Renault suddenly realized something. The way they had interacted earlier, it didn't feel like the typical interaction between senpai and kohai. It was more like...

'No way, right?' Renault glanced at Hado with suspicion, earning a puzzled look in return.

"What's wrong?" Hado asked.

Shaking his head, Renault thought he might be overthinking it.

Back in the lounge, Hado had fully recovered and was excitedly discussing Renault making dinner with two other girls. He couldn't help but feel both exasperated and amused.

After a few hours of rest and lunch in the afternoon, they resumed their patrol mission. Fortunately, there were no incidents like the morning, just a couple of thugs attempting a robbery.

The day's work finally ended, and as they boarded the bus back to school, Hado hummed a tune, her mood exceptionally cheerful. It seemed she had completely forgotten about the morning's accident.

Renault was starting to regret agreeing to make her dinner.

'Should've let her fret a bit longer. Why did I have to give in?'

Sometimes, you couldn't afford to be soft.

However, upon returning to the dormitory, Renault encountered something even more vexing. Knowing that he was cooking dinner tonight, Kirishima, Ashido, Tokoyami, and others whose hero offices weren't even in Tokyo and far away had rushed back, waiting for him like hungry baby birds.

'Are you fucking serious?'
