[MHCISQD] Chapter 386: War of Villains (I)

Hado took the teacup handed to her by Uraraka, said her thanks, and then sat down beside Renault, smiling.

"Hey, Renault, your teacup has a crack!"

Hado noticed Renault was lost in thought and followed his gaze, spotting the hairline fracture on his teacup.

"Yeah, it just cracked all of a sudden."

Renault didn't display any particular expression. He even blew on the tea and took a sip, holding the cracked teacup. Although it had cracked, it wasn't leaking.

"Hahh~"

After finishing the cup, he decided to get another.

As they sipped their tea, the lounge's TV was on. A TV show had just ended, and it was commercial time.

Watching the advertisements, Renault couldn't help but comment, "Detnerat Company is really making a strong push lately huh..."

Hado nodded. "Yeah, I heard they wanted to join U.A.'s logistics support company, but the school didn't approve. After all, this company used to make personal items and support products. Maybe they look good now, but their foundation isn't that strong."

"Oh, is that so?" Renault was surprised; he hadn't realized this company had such ambitions.

Renault's own hero costume didn't have any special features. It had some added storage for small items and basic defensive capabilities, but he hardly used them. However, Renault knew that the support companies the school collaborated with were all well-established for at least 30 to 40 years old. They were reliable in terms of quality and efficiency.

Apart from him, everyone else in the class had their hero costumes improved at least 2 to 3 times. Every time they requested changes, the costumes were updated within days, and there was no need for revisions.

With Detnerat Company, Renault couldn't imagine them achieving the same level of efficiency.

Thinking about it, Renault picked up his phone and started researching the company.

Hmm, the CEO is Yotsubashi Rikiya. He's quite the savvy businessman, managing to break into the personal items market.

After checking the company's scale, Renault looked into some more news about Detnerat Company.

While doing so, he stumbled upon something—photos of Yotsubashi with several high-ranking members of the Meta Liberation Army whom he had already defeated. These were either photos from significant events or from cooperative news releases.

Looking at these pictures and news articles, Renault rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

'This Yotsubashi Rikiya's identity is getting interesting. Could it be that he's the leader of the Meta Liberation Army?'

With this thought in mind, Renault couldn't contain his curiosity.

He stood up and told the three girls in the lounge, "I'm taking the afternoon off. Something's come up. Be careful with your activities this afternoon."

"Huh? Why do you suddenly have something to do?"

Hado looked puzzled at Renault.

"It just came up. I need to take care of it."

Waving to Hado, Uraraka, and Tsuyu, Renault headed to Ryukyu's office to request time off.

His leave application was quickly approved, so Renault didn't even wait for lunch; he left the office directly.

For lunch, Renault went to a nearby McDonald's, ordered a meal, and ate it on the way to his destination.

The main office of Detnerat was right here in Tokyo, and he didn't need to take the train. A bus could take him directly to the company's vicinity. Renault waited for the bus for a couple of minutes and then, after a half-hour ride, he arrived at the company.

Once he arrived, Renault took the telescope that Yaoyorozu had made for him and found a spot to begin his observation.

Coincidentally, not even two minutes had passed when Yotsubashi emerged from the company, accompanied by two assistants.

Before Yotsubashi could take any action, a disturbance erupted on the street.

Shocker had reappeared.

This time, unlike yesterday, there were not only the lowest-level black-clad Combatmen but also Bone Combatmen. Renault even vaguely spotted a few Red Bone Combatmen. Besides these nearly a hundred Combatmen, he saw three Kaijin and several very familiar figures.

The League of Villains.

Under the leadership of Shigaraki, the League of Villains, followed by three Nomu, arrived directly across from Yotsubashi.

'Indeed, this Detnerat isn't dealing with simple stuff. Yotsubashi Rikiya is probably the leader of the Meta Liberation Army. Shigaraki seems to be planning to take them down in one go. Hmm, should I get involved?' Renault thought.

As they exchanged glares, Yotsubashi, looking at the formidable force in front of him, remained unfazed. He took a comb from his pocket, ran it through his hair, and chuckled. "Shigaraki Tomura, you really have no boundaries, do you?"

"Hehehe..." Shigaraki, his pallid face twisted into a sinister grin, replied, "What boundaries do I need? I've been wanting this for a long time. If I don't wipe you out, I won't be able to sleep soundly. Things could get uncontrollable too easily."

According to the original plan, Shigaraki was supposed to continue building his power for some time. However, Shocker's sudden appearance pushed up the plan in advance.

Though their cooperation was far from genuine, Shigaraki had obtained what he wanted—power. Even if it wasn't his own power, it was still controllable for now, and Shocker was willing to lend it.

With that in mind, there was no need to hide anymore.

Glancing at Yotsubashi, who had only two people by his side, Shigaraki said, "I don't believe you're alone. Bring out your underlings."

"Of course, I won't face all of you alone. My people are already here."

*Swish! Swish! Swish! Swish!*

From buildings on both sides and in the distance, people with various attire but equally serious expressions began to gather rapidly.

"That should do it..." Shigaraki said, satisfied, grinning widely. He raised his hand and pointed forward.

"Let's go, don't hold back. Destroy them all."

The battle erupted in an instant.

And as the Meta Liberation Army and the League of Villains-Shocker alliance faced off, on the rooftop of a tall building in the distance, Hawks, who hadn't been seen for a while, stood with his wings folded and a phone in his hand.

"You've probably received the message too, right? I think my undercover identity is blown. I was the last one to realize they were on the move. Ahh, the scale is quite something. Send someone quickly, or the consequences will be dire."
