[MHCISQD] Chapter 401: Disappearances

Under the cover of the night, Renault and Yaoyorozu returned to the school.

Hikari Studio had been brought to this world by Tsukasa, fortunately without the appearance of Daiki Kaito, which meant that there would be no annoying incidents.

As they walked towards the dormitory, Yaoyorozu spoke casually, "It's been a few days, it seems like things have settled down for now."

"Yeah..." Renault nodded, "But we can't let our guard down. Shocker is not going to give up easily; their goal is to dominate the world after all."

"Dominate the world, just that goal alone is enough to make anyone concerned," Yaoyorozu muttered. "Renault, when do you think we can eliminate this danger?"

"You're asking me? I don't know..." Renault replied. "But as long as they show a weakness, we won't give them any breathing room."

Renault's words were filled with confidence.

After returning to the dormitory, Yaoyorozu headed to her room while Renault joined Kaminari and Mineta in the living room, where they were playing cards.

Renault sat down on the floor, looking at Kaminari shuffling the cards. He couldn't help but ask, "Can't you guys find anyone else to play with?"

Kaminari dealt the cards and said, "No choice, couldn't find anyone else. Midoriya and Bakugo are still training in the gym, Iida went for a night run, Tokoyami won't be back until tomorrow, and the others are still in the bath. Besides, Todoroki is already asleep, and we can't wake him up."

Renault chuckled. "Well, in that case, I'll play a couple of rounds with you guys."

Half an hour later, Renault whistled as he returned to his room, holding the snacks and drinks he had won from the two of them.

'Tsk tsk, why gambling for no reason? Going up against me is like handing over free snacks.' Renault thought, deciding to share these snacks with everyone in the coming days and let Kaminari and Mineta experience the downsides of gambling.

While their lives had temporarily returned to peace, in places they couldn't see, dark forces were stirring.

With All For One's return, many people and organizations in the shadows were aware of the news. Although many did not like the reappearance of the former king of villains, there were also those who eagerly anticipated this day.

While Shigaraki had been designated as All For One's successor, he had not actively recruited members, and many looked down on the young Shigaraki.

However, now that All For One was back, there were gradually more people and organizations seeking ways to connect with him.

Most people in this world pursued peace, but there were also many who couldn't stand the so-called peace and yearned for a more chaotic world.

In a place unknown to All For One, Shocker was also silently pursuing their own plans.

In the slums, where people were few and far between, several individuals, dozens even, disappeared from these places every day.

No one knew where these people had gone, and no one cared about their whereabouts, including Pro Heroes and the Committee.

There was just no way around it; no matter where you were, there were always marginalized individuals who didn't receive much attention or lived quietly, unnoticed.

The disappearance of these people, even if it were to be discovered and taken seriously, would take a lot of time.

After their disappearance, they were all sent to Shocker's base for a series of strengthening modifications.

Through numerous Kaijin modifications, Shocker obtained a variety of genetic samples and began to engage in even more terrifying activities.

Now, Shocker's focus was finally on those groups above ordinary people, including some students from schools.

More precisely, from the hero school.

There were many hero schools across the country, but not every school could achieve the same level of fame as U.A. and Shiketsu. Similarly, not every school had a system where all students lived in the school's dormitory.

And these students from these schools became Shocker's targets.

In this world, Quirks came in all shapes and sizes.

Some Quirks may seem weak, but that's just because they haven't been fully developed. Some Quirks, even though they were decent, had owners without much talent, unable to progress as quickly as the outstanding students, eventually falling into the second tier.

Shocker's operatives in various regions targeted these individuals. After conducting preliminary investigations, they struck when these students were alone after school, conducting direct kidnapping operations.

Not every student could respond perfectly to a sudden kidnapping. One by one, they were captured by Shocker and taken away.

As signs of some people's disappearances began to emerge, it finally aroused the attention of the authorities and the committee. Reports of cases appeared on the desks of the administrators.

"Disappearing, disappearing, all disappearing, and most of them are students, with a small number even being third or fourth-class Pro Heroes."

"Something's gone wrong; someone's targeting these groups."

"Is it the same as the Hero Killer from before?"

"Likely, but it could also be someone even more troublesome."

"Are you saying..."

"Spread the word; instruct the local police and leading Pro Heroes to intensify the search efforts. We must find out what happened to the missing individuals."

Due to the committee's full intervention, news of the disappearances did not spread through the media. However, in several schools, especially top-ranking ones like U.A. and Shiketsu, they received the news.

In the U.A. principal's office, All Might frowned as he held the report handed to him by Principal Nezu.

"In just a few days, so many disappearances, and most of them are students from hero schools. Are we sure these are kidnapping cases? Any contact with the kidnappers or their families?"

Principal Nezu shook his head. "There has been no feedback whatsoever. All the individuals reported missing seem to have vanished without a trace, with no subsequent communication."

Aizawa, seated nearby, said, "So, it means that kidnapping these students and heroes isn't about ransom."

"Exactly. If it were for ransom, they would have targeted students with exceptional talent and more favorable family backgrounds." Principal Nezu returned to his seat, his tone heavy. "The committee contacted me, and there's an unusual air about this situation. Let's all keep an eye on our own students and prevent the number of missing individuals from increasing."

Tsukasa absentmindedly stroked his chin, lost in thought.

A sense of unease hung in the air.
