[MHCISQD] Chapter 403: Relaxed Solution

In the city, violent incidents and the like had become something Yuriko had seen countless times, and she had long grown accustomed to them.

But today was different.

If this monster were causing trouble elsewhere, Yuriko would have ignored it, following the idea of 'out of sight, out of mind.' After all, there were other Pro Heroes to take care of it.

However, today, the monster's activity was too close to her home, right at the end of the shopping street. Moreover, its path of destruction was clearly following the shopping street, causing havoc all the way. And if it continued forward, it would inevitably reach Yuriko's bookstore and, further down, her home.

So, no matter what, she had to step in.

Descending from the sky, Yuriko began flying at a low altitude towards the front.

On the shopping street, many shop owners had either locked themselves inside or were fleeing outside to escape. Many of them recognized Yuriko.

"Yuriko, don't go there! It's dangerous!"

These older men and women, even though they knew Renault was a U.A. student, had no idea how much he had grown, or even how strong Yuriko's abilities were. They had always thought of her as a powerless young woman. Although they saw her flying now, they still didn't consider her particularly formidable.

Yuriko simply ignored this and continued forward, saying, "Stop talking, just find a safe place for yourselves!"

Who did they think she was? Someone who would run away?

Straightforwardly approaching the monster, Yuriko's gaze remained fixed on it.

The monster amidst the destruction also noticed Yuriko approaching. After a roar, it raised its massive right hand, and from the five nail-like protrusions on its palm, metallic throwing knives shot toward Yuriko.

However, Yuriko didn't even glance at them; she just kept charging forward.

Under Vector Manipulation at Level 5, if her Reflect was shattered so easily, it would be a huge blow to her pride, especially against purely physical attacks.

As expected, these throwing knives were instantly repelled upon touching Yuriko's Reflect and, under her control, were redirected back towards the monster.

*Crack! Crack! Crack!*

Without time to react, these throwing knives struck the monster all over its body at almost twice the speed, causing it to convulse involuntarily, emitting pained howls and being unable to free itself.

"Hmph, even though it's a monster, it's still a form of life. The electrical currents, blood, and moisture inside its body are all things I can manipulate."

Watching this monster, much taller than herself, Yuriko's face displayed a disdainful expression.

It might look formidable and have various abilities, but it had no resistance to this move. Unless it could move so fast that Yuriko couldn't make contact, or it could somehow block her abilities. Otherwise, Vector Manipulation was an extremely domineering power, capable of delivering a lethal blow in an instant.

However, a slight misstep could lead to a situation she couldn't control. Therefore, neither Renault nor Yuriko would use it lightly unless they encountered someone who deserved severe punishment and made them feel uncomfortable.

The monster before her was undoubtedly that type.

Why cause trouble here of all places when it could wreak havoc anywhere else?

While the monster possessed self-healing abilities and could recover injuries, control over the creature's bioelectricity and blood flow remained firmly in Yuriko's grasp.

Just as she was contemplating how to handle this situation, nearby Pro Heroes arrived.

Leading them was someone Yuriko recognized, Nighteye.

Since they knew each other, this should be easier.

After a quick glance at Nighteye, Yuriko raised her right arm. Blades of compressed air enveloped her arm, and with a swift motion, she severed all of the monster's limbs.

"That should prevent it from regenerating." Yuriko remarked, casting a somewhat disdainful look at the creature now bleeding profusely on the ground. "I'm leaving this thing to you. It's got multiple powers, and I'm not sure if it's the League of Villains or Shocker behind it. You might want to ask Kadoya Tsukasa at U.A. about it."

With that, she turned and headed home.

The Pro Hero beside Nighteye tried to stop Yuriko, but Nighteye gestured to hold them back.

"Sir, why not keep her here? Shouldn't the person involved stay?"

Nighteye shook his head and said, "No need. Don't inquire about that girl's matters. If you ever run into her again, don't make trouble. Pretend you haven't seen her. First, detain this monster; we can't let him have a chance to counterattack."

Looking around, Nighteye finally understood why Yuriko had appeared in this place.

It turned out her home was nearby, and if this monster continued to wreak havoc, it would undoubtedly affect her house.

The events on the shopping street naturally reached Renault's ears very quickly.

Knowing that Yuriko had appeared and dealt with the monster, Renault wasn't overly worried. Still, he made a call, just to be sure. "Is everything okay at home?"

Yuriko sat in the living room, holding her phone, and replied with a nonchalant expression, "It was just some trash. How could anything happen to me? You're underestimating me, aren't you?"

"I certainly don't underestimate you. As your elder brother, I know your abilities better than anyone." Renault said, smiling. But he maintained a somewhat serious tone. "But having power doesn't mean you should let your guard down. Overconfidence is a big enemy. If something were to go wrong one day, it would be embarrassing, you know?"

"Tsk, you don't need to say so much. As long as I step in, I'll crush the opponent. There's no chance of anything going wrong." Yuriko retorted, rolling her eyes, but her tone had noticeably softened.

On the other end of the phone call, Renault could tell that Yuriko had taken his words to heart.

After chatting for a few more minutes and learning about the appearance and abilities of the monster, Renault hung up the phone.

"A different kind of creature from Nomu and Kaijin? Multiple powers, but no intelligence, and not too strong in terms of strength. With a few more Pro Heroes, they can easily handle it, and there shouldn't be any casualties."

Opening his phone, Renault searched for online news and examined a few on-site photos of the creature. A thought crossed his mind.

Could this creature be the work of Shocker?
