[MHCISQD] Chapter 406: Weak

Mikoto knew Renault would come to watch, but she never expected so many people to be here.

Beside Mikoto, a long-unseen Raiden Mei nervously looked ahead, adjusting her mood, oblivious to Renault and the others.

Seeing Mei, who was nervous beside her, Mikoto also held her hand and spoke in a hushed voice, "Come on, it's just an exam, right? You've worked hard for so long, and getting nervous now would be counterproductive. Just show your true strength."

Although, after the new year, Mei had been caught up in family matters, schoolwork, and a continuous stream of external events that prevented her from visiting U.A. or going out for leisure, she still kept in touch with people like Mikoto and Yaoyorozu in her spare time.

So Mikoto also knew that Mei hadn't given up on the idea of taking the U.A. exam due to the recent series of villain activities.

To be honest, Mei herself was quite surprised. She had initially thought that her father would forbid her from participating in the U.A. exam due to the recent string of events.

But when she finally asked, he showed no concern and simply told her to prepare for the exam with peace of mind.

The reason, in fact, was quite simple.

As one of U.A.'s support companies, ME Corp, President Raiden Ryoma had a good relationship with U.A., and he had received hints from Principal Nezu, more or less, and deduced some things.

So, considering everything, he believed that sending his daughter to study at U.A. was currently the best and safest choice.

Even if she didn't become a Pro Hero in the future, a student coming out of U.A. couldn't be lacking, especially since she was his daughter from the Raiden family.

So, Mei came.

At Mikoto's hushed signal, Mei also noticed Class A students not far from the exam venue.

When Ashido and a few other girls saw her looking over, they waved and smiled.

Mei immediately blushed.

Mikoto, smiling on the side, said, "We've known each other for so long, why are you blushing?"

"Why do you care? Can't you see all these people here? Oh, the other teachers are here."

The two immediately fell silent. Three more teachers, all from Class 1-A, Mic, Midnight, and Thirteen, had joined All Might's side.

All Might clapped his hands and said to the 15 students present, "Alright, let's quiet down. First, as a teacher, on behalf of U.A., I welcome you all to participate in today's recommendation entrance exam. I won't delay any further; let me briefly explain the exam's content. Today's exam consists of five different tests in total. I hope you can demonstrate your true abilities during the exam, so we can select the top three among you."

Yes, although there were 15 participants, only three of them would be chosen as recommended students from the recommendation entrance exam.

Mikoto had known this for a while and just smiled indifferently.

'Three slots, huh... I and Mei would take two of them.'

Well, that's how confident she was.

After All Might announced it, the 15 students were divided and led to different test areas by the three teachers.

All Might didn't go with them; he looked at the list of examinees and the information behind it, reading it three times from top to bottom, and noticed something.

It was indeed quite a challenge for these thirteen examinees to compete for a single slot since he believed the remaining two slots were Mikoto's and Mei's already.

At that moment, Class A students had gathered around All Might, also looking at the list of names in his hands.

After finishing reading, Bakugo pursed his lips and said, "It's way off. Just this? And they're recommending entrance?"

Todoroki's opinion this time surprisingly aligned with Bakugo's. He nodded in agreement, saying, "Although a few of their Quirks are quite unusual, their middle school test scores weren't that impressive."

"Are they using connections?"

"But isn't it the same for Mikoto and Mei?"

"Well, they have talent and strength!"

"That's true."

As they chatted back and forth, All Might felt a headache coming on. He waved his hand and said, "Alright! Since I can't stop you, go and watch the exams. But remember, don't disturb the examinees!"

"Got it!"

"Shall we go watch Mikoto and Mei's exams?"

"What if the others surprise us?"

"Then should we split up?"

"Never mind, let's go together for now!"

Watching everyone leave, even All Might let out a sigh.

Although the students didn't need to do off-campus work studies, which avoided some unforeseen dangers, the school itself had become quite chaotic.

Some students were well-behaved, but there were many who liked to stir things up.

Since they couldn't leave the school, they came up with other ways to spice up their school life.

And the scariest idea of them all came from Renault. It was to challenge the second-year seniors.

This proposal came after Renault had tormented and cultivated his fellow classmates for almost half a month. It was partly to change their training routine and partly to see if the second-years had seniors with skills comparable to Togata.

When everyone heard Renault's idea, they all approved unanimously.

Soon, U.A. High entered its darkest half-month.

Renault led Class 1-A's students, and in less than half a month, they challenged every student in the Hero Department's second grade. The seniors were left bewildered after being challenged by the juniors.

At first, they didn't think much of the first-year students, considering they had only been at the school for a year.

But when the training battles began, the seniors who accepted the challenges were left baffled and couldn't figure out what was happening until it was all over.

Then the next day, Class 1-A's got challenged back and challenger numbers gradually increased, but the results remained unchanged.

It was at this point that the second-year students realized that these first-year Hero Department students were genuinely strong.

As for the second-year teachers, they were furious upon learning of this and issued a strict order that no student from either class was allowed to refuse a challenge from the first years, and they had to fight until they won, no matter what.

And so, for half a month, not a single victory was achieved.

This was all without Renault stepping onto the field. Class 1-A alone accomplished this feat.

Furthermore, Bakugo, Todoroki, and Midoriya each achieved a three-win streak individually.

After all of this, the strength of Class 1-A finally became known to the entire school.

Togata and his friends came over to join in the fun after hearing about it. It wasn't until Amajiki and Bakugo had a fierce battle that the second-year students realized that they were the weakest.

So, Renault's hellish training wasn't in vain. Everyone's strength and combat awareness had greatly improved.

However, when they looked at the student candidates taking the exams, they felt that they were all weak.

Except for Mikoto and Mei of course. These two were exceptions.
