[MHCISQD] Chapter 438: Managing Hero Office

Through Yuriko's phone call, after chatting with Mikoto, Renault hung up and continued having dinner with Ryukyu and Hado.

They returned to Tokyo at 4 PM because Ryukyu had already reported on the mission's situation. Upon reaching Tokyo, they only handed over the USB drive containing the recorded data to the person who came to collect it, and that was the end of their responsibilities.

After devouring a plate of sashimi, Ryukyu took a sip of sake and said contentedly, "This mission was really a headache. I'm planning to take a good week off to recuperate. Renault, can you and Nejire handle office affairs for me?"

"Huh? Aren't you too straightforward?"

Startled by Ryukyu's words, Renault had just taken a bite of sea urchin sushi.

"You're the boss of the office. Is it really okay to leave it in the hands of a fledgling like us?"

"Why not? Besides, it's just for a week. I don't believe you two can't handle it." Ryukyu swirled her sake cup, looking back and forth between the two. "Renault, I remember you said you plan to open your own office in the future. Managing office affairs is something you'll have to get used to sooner or later. I'm just allowing you to accumulate experience. It's not easy to find a senior like me who cares so much, y'know."

"No, I think you just want to laz around."

Renault glanced at Ryukyu with a nonchalant expression but didn't refuse.

He had spent a considerable amount of time learning in the office, and before that, he had studied at Hawks' office. He had accumulated quite a bit of theoretical experience.

Now, with Ryukyu giving him this opportunity to gain management experience, he wouldn't let it slip away.

"I can take care of things, but Ryukyu, you're not planning to just stay at home these days, are you?"

"Of course not." Ryukyu smiled. "I'll rest at home for a day, then go to a friend's resort to relax and see if I can find my other half."

'Finding a life partner would be tough for a dragon lady like you though.'

Renault didn't say it out loud but pondered on it in his mind.

On the other hand, Hado was more daring. She directly said, "Ryukyu, you've been on so many blind dates. Can't you find someone suitable yet?"

Ryukyu gripped her sake cup tightly and stared at Hado. "Little girl, just because you have a man now doesn't mean you can mock me carelessly. Do you forget who's been bringing you up all this time?"

"Ahaha~" Hado chuckled awkwardly. Seeing that Renault wasn't going to help, she immediately moved to Ryukyu's side, hugged her arm, and begged for forgiveness.

Their relationship was good, so Renault wasn't worried that they would end up fighting, at most, they would create a bit of a ruckus.

After dinner, the three of them took a taxi. After dropping Ryukyu off at her home, Renault and Hado went back to his home.

When they returned, Yuriko and Mikumo had just come back as well and were boiling water for tea.

"Good evening! Mikumo, Yuriko!"

Upon entering, Hado enthusiastically greeted them.

Yuriko, watching Hado about to pounce on her, placed a cup of tea between them, blocking her.

"Reeking of alcohol, don't get too close."

"What do you mean alcohol? I just had two sips of sake, blame your sensitive nose! Thanks, by the way."

Taking the hot tea handed to her, Hado took a satisfied sip and then sat down next to Mikumo.

"Nee, how was it filling in for Renault at U.A. this afternoon?"

Mikumo chuckled. "Yuriko was the one teaching, I just went for the fun of it."

Coming down from upstairs, Renault, now changed and refreshed, added, "Yuriko is way stricter than me. Those students definitely had it rough."

"It's because they're weak, especially the boys. Their courage is seriously lacking; they can't even match a few girls." Yuriko said, handing Renault a cup of tea. "Back when Renault and the others were first-years, they handled things way differently during the League of Villains' first attack."

Renault knew Yuriko was referring to the first invasion of the League of Villains in USJ.

"It can't be helped, who let them not have a proper exposure to the dangers of villains? The incident on the first day, and the way I handled it easily, made the villains seem less terrifying to them."

Watching Yuriko's calm expression, Renault added, "But with the experiences Yuriko is sharing this time, it should be enough. Many students have the talent, but it hasn't been forced out of them yet. The future is getting more dangerous with diverse Quirks, and heroes are facing more difficulties. Making the freshmen feel danger early on is necessary."

After discussing school matters, Hado also shared her and Ryukyu's mission details with Yuriko and Mikumo. This included investigation in the forest, the struggle to find a decent place to shower, and the lack of good food. She went on for over half an hour until the Shocker ambush and Renault's rescue.

After hearing it all, Mikumo couldn't help but say, "Shocker seems to be everywhere, causing trouble. Renault, they've even expanded into Northern Europe and Russia?"

"Yeah." Renault nodded, surprised by Shocker's expansion.

But this was expected.

Shocker's Combatmen were genetically copied, allowing them to have a constant supply of soldiers as long as resources permitted. Even if they weren't as individually strong as Kaijin, the sheer quantity allowed them to overwhelm their enemy.

"They probably think they've suffered too many blows here, especially with every confrontation involving Renault and Kadoya Tsukasa. So, they've decided to expand overseas. I just wonder how strong the Pro Heroes are overseas." Yuriko analyzed.

"The 'strongest' category won't be much weaker than All Might in his prime."

Renault thought for a moment and shared information about Kiana's mother, Cecilia, known as the strongest Valkyrie in Northern Europe.

Yuriko was surprised. "Although Kiana has good talent, she often fights without thinking. I didn't expect her mother to be so powerful."

The next day, after an early breakfast, Renault and Hado headed to Ryukyu's office.

For the next week, Ryukyu wouldn't be going on any missions. She had informed the entire office, and now Renault and Hado would be in charge.

"A whole week huh... I'm looking forward to it."

Renault muttered as he gazed at the hero office building.
