Chapter 31: Oh Boy

"What?" Atwood was stunned and somewhat doubted his own ears.

"I said cao ni ma." Seeing his unclear expression, Li Yexing repeated it again. Atwood was dumbfounded on the spot.

"Oh, this is an encouraging phrase in our China..." Li Yexing explained with a smile, "The meaning of this phrase is to never mind rumors and slander."

"Is...is that so? Hahaha..." Atwood squeezed out a twisted smile and agreed. Seeing his forced smile, Li Yexing knew he might have played too much. This guy probably understood Chinese. So Li Yexing also laughed along with Mr. Atwood, and the two looked harmonious.

"Come, Lilith, meet Mr. Atwood." Li Yexing smiled and hugged the girl hiding behind him, and said to Atwood, "Let me introduce you, this is my wife, Lilith E. Spencer."

"Spencer? Is it the one from Umbrella..." Atwood was surprised when he heard Lilith's name.

"Yes, that's Spencer. My wife's family is considered a branch of the Spencer family, and Old Spencer is my wife's uncle." Li Yexing, taking advantage of the fact that Spencer was already buried, began to talk nonsense to Atwood.

"Oh, it turns out that you are a descendant of the Spencer family. I apologize for my disrespect," said the traditional British noble, humbling himself.

"But you said you're from China, and Miss Spencer is your wife," he continued, curious but not suspicious of Li Yexing's words.

"I moved to Europe when I was a teenager," Li Yexing replied, weaving a web of lies.

"Then your meeting with Miss Spencer must be a very romantic and beautiful story," Lord Atwood remarked, assuming he knew the answer.

"Yes," Li Yexing nodded, "we met through a dating website."

"Dating website?" Lord Atwood was once again caught off guard.

"Yes, I and Lilith met through a dating website," Li Yexing said, realizing he may have gone too far with his teasing. But he couldn't help himself; he enjoyed the sight of Lord Atwood's baffled expression.

"I see," Lord Atwood said politely, trying to conceal his bewilderment. "You have a way with words, Li."

"I think so too," Li Yexing replied proudly.

Atwood forced a smile on his face, cursing in his heart. What kind of person is this? Why is he so uncultured? Why did he insult me just now? Did I offend him? Is this guy crazy? If it weren't for the fact that only the upper class and some important people could receive invitations to board the ship, he would suspect that Li Yexing was some kind of stray dog that wandered on board!

With a fake smile, Atwood chatted with Li Yexing for a few more sentences. It seemed like an illusion, but Atwood felt like this person from China liked to pretend to accidentally make him choke and observe his reaction. What a perverse taste?!

"Li, you really have a way with words. It's truly an honor to have met you," Atwood said with a forced smile, trying to suppress his discomfort, "Good times are always so fleeting, I really wish I could chat with you a little longer..."

"We can!" Li Yexing exclaimed excitedly.

"I'm afraid not..." Suppressing the urge to vomit, Atwood pointed to the group of young gentlemen behind him who were impatiently waiting and looking at the side, "My friends must be getting impatient."

"Oh..." Li Yexing said with a lonely face.

"Then you go ahead. We can chat again sometime."

After bidding farewell politely, Atwood left.

"Mr. Atwood hates Li Yexing..." said Lilith on the side, "Mr. Atwood looked like he wanted to throw up when he talked to Li Yexing."

"Is that so?" said Li Yexing indifferently, "I thought we had a good chat. I even greeted him as ass kisser, and he didn't even get angry. I guess he really is a rich man with good manners and a good attitude."

To be honest, when Atwood first came over, Li Yexing was a little hopeful that Atwood would act like a fool and throw a wad of money at him, saying something like "My dad is xxx, my mom is xxx, my family is rich and powerful, and today I'll give you money and the girl next to you must come with me." Then he could perform his show of being arrogant and slapping faces on the spot.

However, traditional ways of showing off and face slapping are usually involved "I Can't see Mt. Tai" and a display of influence behind him, which would scare the foolish second-generation rich and ass kisser to their knees begging for mercy and bowing down.

Li Yexing had no power behind him, so the only way he could slap someone's face was to pull out his little gun and leave more holes in your face than there were numbers on your watch.

After saying goodbye to Atwood, Li Yexing and Lilith became bored again, but they didn't have to wait long before a middle-aged man in a suit walked up to the front desk on the second floor.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please be quiet for a moment," said the man's voice, and the hall instantly became silent.

"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, please allow me to introduce myself. I am Jason Parker, the owner of this ship."

Li Yexing raised his head and looked at the short and fat man on the second-floor platform with a slight startle, isn't that the man he bumped into in the corridor outside just now?

Li Yexing carefully examined the man who spoke on the platform. For some reason, the man always looked guilty and had to wipe the sweat off his forehead every few words. His demeanor was completely unlike the nobles standing in the hall, and he acted like a servant of a wealthy family in a TV drama.

Li Yexing quickly lost interest in him because his speech was long and meaningless. The endless polite words bored not only Li Yexing but also the upper-class people below the platform, who showed a faint disgust and disdain in their eyes. Realizing that his speech was not well-received, the man wiped his sweat and abruptly announced the start of the next activity - the dance.

As the elegant music played, people in the hall began to move. Men with their female partners naturally led them onto the dance floor. Except for those who really did not intend to dance, the rest were mostly young masters who invited the ladies they admired to dance. When a lady extended her hand, the young masters would gladly lead her onto the dance floor and dance gracefully to the beautiful music.

Li Yexing remembered his former boss, who bragged after drinking that he had once detailed to him the gatherings of these upper-class people. He said that if a lady agreed to dance with you, you could take her back to your room at night and do some entertaining things. Li Yexing thought he had read too many fantasy novels.

While Li Yexing was bored and watching the people dancing in the ballroom, a girl walked over. At first, Li Yexing didn't notice her until the girl stopped in front of him, and he instinctively lowered his head. The girl had short black hair, big blue eyes, a round and cute face, fair skin, and was wearing a yellow dress.

But what caught Li Yexing's attention was not her appearance. She was too short, less than 1.6 meters tall, which was an anomaly in the generally taller Caucasian crowd with early development.

The girl's face was turning red, she was trembling, and she stuttered, "S-Sir, c-could you dance with m-me, please?"

Lilith's eyes became sharp instantly. Li Yexing looked at the nervous girl in front of him, and his eyebrows slightly raised. Oh boy.
