Chapter 33: Dance

Li Yexing, who looked confused, was dragged by Lilith to the center of the dance floor where the muscular man was dancing wildly. This behavior was very inelegant and not noble. The people on the dance floor seemed somewhat dissatisfied, but no one spoke up.

With his head down, Li Yexing looked at Lilith, who had no expression on her face. Her eyes shone with stubbornness, making Li Yexing feel a little unsure of what to do.

"Forget it," Li Yexing sighed, and he reached out his hands to hold the girl in his arms.

"Next, follow my steps." With elegant and soothing music playing, Li Yexing began to move, and Lilith in his arms looked a bit nervous and clumsy. Her steps were a bit messy, and she almost stepped on Li Yexing several times.

"Take it slow, don't rush." Feeling the warmth in his arms, Li Yexing whispered in Lilith's ear.

It seemed that Li Yexing's comfort worked, and Lilith's body began to slowly relax. With her control over her body far beyond that of an ordinary person, her steps began to stabilize. Although they were still somewhat stiff, Li Yexing didn't have to worry about getting his feet stepped on.

"That's it, take it slow, follow the rhythm, take it slow..."

Now Li Yexing could truly enjoy the feeling of dancing. Whether in his past life or present life, he had never truly danced. Whether for a laborer or a violent mercenary, dancing like this was a waste of time and boring. This was something only the rich could enjoy.

But now, Li Yexing has some new ideas. Watching Lilith dance in his arms, Li Yexing realized that dancing itself may not be that interesting, but dancing with his girl in this environment does have a special feeling.

The bright lights, the magnificent surroundings, the melodious music, and the two of us dressed in finery. Lilith seemed to have mastered the steps completely and finally had the energy to lift her head and meet Li Yexing's gaze.

The man exuding a fierce aura and the silver-haired girl dressed in white like the winter snow, spinning and swaying in the center of the dance floor, were like demons and angels. The atmosphere between them gradually permeated, like ripples caused by a small stone thrown into a calm water surface, attracting the attention of the people around them, even softening the disdainful gazes of those looking on.

Unaware that he had become the focus of the dance floor, Li Yexing danced passionately with Lilith in his arms. When the song ended, warm applause came from the surroundings. Li Yexing was slightly startled, then looked around and found that the old gentlemen, noble ladies, noble girls, and young masters were all looking at him. Lilith, who was also dancing for the first time, looked a little uneasy under the gaze of those around her.

Li Yexing smiled and took her hand, saying softly, "Let's go, we're going back."

The two returned to the corner where they had been standing earlier. Ada clapped and laughed, saying, "I didn't expect you to have this skill."

Lilith stood proudly by Li Yexing's side, hugging his arm expressionlessly and flashing a terrifying light in her eyes as if declaring her dominance.

Ada found it a little funny.

"You're a wicked woman," Li Yexing frowned displeasedly, "What is this? Are you deliberately teasing us for fun?"

"Don't say that." Ada waved her hand and said, "In terms of results, it's not bad, right?"

"You better not waste our time anymore..." Li Yexing said displeasedly, "Don't forget, technically we're still on vacation, so when exactly does your mission begin, Miss Wong?"

"It's about time." Ada looked at her wristwatch and smiled, "Actually, there's no need to rush like this. We can fully enjoy this banquet before we start working. Or is it that you just hate seeing me?"

"Yes, to us, you're like a jinx." Li Yexing said bluntly.

"Really, if you don't want to see me, I'll leave. But there's one thing you need to understand, having the right attitude is important for a person, after all... we may work together frequently in the future." Leaving Li Yexing with a chilling statement, Ada left.

"That woman is so annoying..." Lilith complained.

"And very troublesome..." Li Yexing said.

------------------------

In the magnificent hall, the ship's security personnel were patrolling. They were guarding the path to the lower cargo hold, which is a restricted area that is usually sealed off by a gate unless you have a high-level access card. There are only three of these cards, one in the hands of Jason Parker, the owner of the Orianna, another in the hands of the captain, Osborne Fion, and the last one is guarded by a stranger.

Most security personnel have several years of experience and know very well what the cargo hold below is used for. Wealthy people, more or less, may have a bit of a perverse taste. Once they have enough money and power, they begin to be dissatisfied with what is easily available to them. The annual trading on this ship is prepared for these people who have already surpassed the human social order.

All kinds of strange things from all over the world are collected and stored in the basement in boxes, waiting for the start of the trading. Sometimes the traded goods are long-lost famous paintings, sometimes strange animal specimens, sometimes there are even living people.

"But, isn't there too much cargo this year?" Security guard A muttered to himself. "Think about it, in previous years, at most half of the cargo hold was filled with those scraps, but this year all the cargo holds below are piled up."

"Who knows what new game these noble gentlemen have this year..." Security guard B said discontentedly. "Even if a group of green reptiles ran out of the cargo boxes this year, I wouldn't find it strange."

"Speaking of which... Who is that new guy this year? Isn't it Pierre who is responsible for managing the shipped goods in previous years? Why did they change personnel this year?" Security guard A murmured. "He always has a serious face and looks down on people. He wears a white coat every day as if he thinks he is a doctor or researcher."

"Don't talk about him." Security guard B whispered to Security guard A, signaling him to look ahead. Security guard A looked up and saw a person wearing black combat gear, wearing a helmet, and holding an HK-416 standing about ten meters away from the corner ahead, motionless like a sculpture.

"Dammit..." Security guard A spat.

"These people... feel not simple..." Security guard B whispered to security guard A, "You know, I worked for a security contract at Blackwater for several years, and I'm very sensitive to these dangerous guys."

"They are real killers, the troops in the white coats they brought on board are very powerful."

"So who are these people?" Security guard A scratched his head and suddenly became lighter. He squinted his eyes and furrowed his brows as if looking for something.

"Clark, did you hear anything?" Security guard A asked.

"What sound?" Security guard B frowned, "You know, my right ear hasn't been working properly since I went to Iraq."

"This sound... it's like... someone is calling?" Security guard A turned around to look at the tightly locked gate behind him, and the faint sound had disappeared. Security guard A looked at the person in black combat gear, but he remained motionless as if he had not heard any strange sounds.

"Maybe I heard it wrong..."
