Chapter 46: Hunter Alpha?

The pressure on Li Yexing's body disappeared, and he quickly stood up, pulling out the shotgun from his back. Next to him, Lilith also drew out her large-caliber revolver.

Looking at the monster in front of him, Li Yexing felt his scalp tingling. The creature looked like a standing lizard, with strong muscles all over its body, green scales covering its skin, and two huge and sharp claws covered in blood. Black bone spurs grew on its back, and at this moment, it was staring at Li Yexing and his group with its somewhat dull orange-red eyes.

There was no doubt that this was indeed a hunter. Its appearance was very similar to that of a Hunter Alpha, but the eyes of a Hunter Alpha are much smaller and do not look so dull. It also does not have obvious bone spur structures on its back, and most importantly, a Hunter Alpha would not be so large.

A normal Hunter Alpha should be slightly shorter than an adult male, but this one in front of them was estimated to be almost two meters tall!

The oversized hunter in front of them missed its attack and seemed somewhat annoyed. It charged at Li Yexing, opening its blood-filled mouth and emitting a harsh and almost ear-piercing roar.

Without hesitation, Li Yexing aimed at the creature's head and fired a shot from his shotgun. The steel beads in the shotgun shells rained down on the monster's head, but only caused a pitiful amount of blood to splatter. It did not inflict any effective damage. The giant hunter staggered back two steps and let out a piercing scream. Then, it suddenly spread its four limbs and assumed a strange posture facing the sky.

Li Yexing recognized this posture. In the game, if a hunter assumed this posture, he had to either quickly move out of the way or use a hard stun, because this posture indicated that the hunter was about to use a jump attack that could ignore the opponent's health and behead them in one hit.

"DODGE!" Li Yexing shouted to the person behind him.

Lilith's body twisted slightly as she prepared to dodge, and the little yellow flower behind them immediately lay down on the ground. At that moment, the hunter moved. It took a quick step forward and raised its claws high, but Li Yexing was prepared. He pressed his body down low so that the hunter's move could at most float over his head. However, just as the hunter's claws were about to miss, an unexpected situation occurred!

Suddenly, the hunter spun in mid-air and retracted its huge claws. Its powerful hind legs kicked toward Li Yexing, who was completely defenseless. However, Lilith reacted quickly, using her legs to push herself toward Li Yexing. Just as the hunter's foot was about to land solidly on Li Yexing, Lilith aimed a powerful kick toward the hunter's exposed belly. This kick successfully halted the hunter's attack. The hunter spun in the air before crashing to the ground, while Lilith was sent flying due to the impact.

Li Yexing broke out in a cold sweat. If Lilith hadn't intervened in time, the hunter's kick would have likely crushed his lungs. It seemed that battling B.O.W.s couldn't rely solely on the information obtained from the game. After all, the behavior patterns of B.O.W.s in the game were predetermined data, whereas the monster in front of him was a real, living creature.

Even so, what was that aerial maneuver just now? This hunter seemed to know martial arts.

Li Yexing came to his senses and picked up his shotgun, aiming it at the hunter's head while it was still on the ground. He pulled the trigger, and the shot hit the hunter's head, causing it to explode into a shower of blood and flesh. The hunter was knocked down by the shot, and it howled in pain. Then, it stood up, staggering backward while waving its claws.

Its injury was terrifying, as the right side of its head was a bloody mess, with even its eyeball having been shattered. Lilith had already stood up by this point, and she took out her large-caliber revolver, firing a shot at the hunter's chest. The large bullet hit the hunter hard, but it still didn't die. The hunter roared as it covered the wound on its face and fled, disappearing from sight before Li Yexing could catch up.

Li Yexing was a little disappointed. He turned to Lilith and asked, "Are you okay?"

Lilith shook her head, indicating that she was fine.

"That's good. Let's hurry to the lower cargo hold to find Ada and leave this place," said Li Yexing, furrowing his brow. "I'm getting tired of this shit."

Soon, the three of them arrived at the entrance to sector C of the lower deck. Compared to the upper deck, the lighting in the lower deck was noticeably dimmer. Li Yexing looked at Lilith, who looked back at him. Li Yexing nodded to Lilith, then turned around to say to the little yellow flower, Helen, who was following behind them, "Stay close and don't fall behind." Helen nodded silently in response.

Taking a deep breath, Li Yexing picked up his gun and, with Lilith on his left and Helen on his right, walked cautiously toward the dark lower deck. Once they entered the lower deck, Li Yexing could clearly feel that the air was somewhat murky and there was a speck of slight dust floating in the air, making it very uncomfortable.

If the upper deck was where the guests and the ship's leadership stayed, then the lower deck was where the lowest-level staff stayed. Most of the people here were security guards and waiters, as well as some other miscellaneous staff. The decoration here was vastly different from the luxurious upper deck. If the upper deck was extravagantly luxurious, then the decoration standard of the lower deck was just barely passable.

The three of them carefully moved forward in the dim light, and Li Yexing tried to contact Ada again, but there was still no response.

"This woman is really..." Li Yexing couldn't help but curse softly, but just as he turned a corner, he almost ran into a corpse. Li Yexing was so frightened that he shuddered and swallowed his remaining words.

The body had an extremely miserable appearance. It was hung upside down from the ceiling, with the shoulder to chest almost completely torn open, and blood that had not been drained was still dripping down from the body. However, this was not what surprised Li Yexing the most. What surprised him the most was the clothes on the body. They were standard Black Ops uniforms!

Li Yexing looked around and saw several bodies lying in various positions on the corridor, all wearing black ops uniforms like this one. Near these bodies, Li Yexing saw a giant Hunter, lying motionless in a pool of blood, covered in wounds. He walked up and kicked it, but it didn't move. It appeared to be dead.

"Yexing... these people..." Lilith looked displeased as she looked at the bodies wearing black ops uniforms scattered on the ground.

"Ah...that's right...it's them."
