Chapter 50: Black Umbrella

Next, Li Yexing's mission finally got back on track. As long as they escorted Ada to the lower deck and obtained the task target, they could leave safely. They handed Rita, who had not fully recovered her strength, to Helen, and the group headed towards the lower deck.

"What kind of people are you? Who do you work for?" Rita, supported by Helen, asked as they walked through the dark corridor.

"That's a complicated question..." Li Yexing smiled and said, "If you must know... The silver-haired beauty and I are mercenaries. Currently, we are working for the woman you've been chasing for half a day. Of course, you can try to hire us too, as long as you have money. Although we're not very good at solving problems, we're very good at taking care of those who create problems."

"I'm just a regular passenger and the next head of the Lorena family." Helen, supporting Rita, said in a low voice.

"Why did you board this cruise ship?" Rita asked.

"Business secret, I can't disclose it." Li Yexing shook his head and said, "Compared to us, I think your problems are bigger. This ship is about to sink, and those who are smart are thinking about how to escape. Why do you attack us instead of protecting Parker and leaving with him?"

"That's Parker's order. He wants me to kill every survivor on this ship."

"Why??" Li Yexing was confused by Parker's order.

"That bastard. He insured this cruise ship for a huge amount of money. Once the ship sinks, he can get a large sum of money from it." Rita gritted her teeth and said, "He first conspired with those guys to kill my father, took over his property, and then used what those guys provided to control me. Now, he even wants to sink my father's ship!"

"Is it just because of this...?" Helen's face showed an expression of disbelief. "Just because of this, he can feel at ease about killing everyone?"

"Don't underestimate the darkness in adults' hearts, little brat," Li Yexing teased, then asked, "But what does this have to do with killing us?"

"He doesn't want any survivors... Parker's partners hope to use this cruise ship as a testing ground for a biochemical weapon. Parker received a large sum of money from them and promised that there would be helicopters to help him evacuate before the experiment began..." Rita's face revealed a cold, sinister smile as she spoke.

After listening to Rita's words, Li Yexing could basically confirm that the organization that partnered with Parker and caused the tragedy on this cruise ship was the organization that created T-Lilith's organization.

Li Yexing fell into deep thought.

The control device taken from Rita's chest was actually a very obscure thing that only appeared once in Resident Evil 5. In Resident Evil 5, the main villain Wesker used this device to control Chris's partner Jill Valentine and made them fight each other. And now, a similar thing was found on Rita's body. This could suggest that the organization she mentioned called "Umbrella" had some connection with Wesker. Or more boldly, could the organization called "Black Umbrella" be operated by Wesker himself?

With the thought, Li Yexing couldn't help but shudder. He turned to ask Lilith, "Lilith, when you were in that organization, did you ever see a man wearing sunglasses, with a big golden back head and looked very pretentious?"

"I don't remember." Lilith thought for a moment and answered.

Li Yexing breathed a sigh of relief. Lilith had a particularly good memory, so if she didn't remember, then there probably wasn't anyone like that.

Li Yexing didn't want to face Wesker, it would be deadly. This guy was better left for Chris to handle. As long as he waited a couple of years, Chris would take care of him thoroughly.

Just as Li Yexing was still thinking about Black Umbrella, Ada stopped in her tracks.

"We're here," Ada said.

Li Yexing looked up and saw an open gate, and behind the gate was a dark cargo hold. The entrance to the hold led straight to the bottom floor and looked like a beast ready to devour people, with its jaws wide open to greet Li Yexing.

Looking at the darkness in front of him, Li Yexing took a deep breath.

"Let's go down."
