[WDIDWAMGB] Chapter 77: Sneaky Escape

The moonlight gradually became shrouded by dark clouds, as if unwilling to cover this small town that had turned into a hell on earth amidst cries and screams.

After slaughtering the Government Forces stationed there, the Rebel Forces stormed into the homes of ordinary residents. They laughed wildly as they forcibly dragged the innocent out of their homes, beating the men and gang-raping the women before injecting them with new parasite eggs. Soon, these people would become their comrades and slaves.

A black man who had just finished having fun without even putting on his clothes was carrying a gun, laughing strangely as he walked past a nearby alley.

Suddenly, two hands reached out from the darkness, one covering his mouth while the other held a knife and slit his artery. The man was then dragged into the alley. Li Yexing followed behind and pulled out his knife, stabbing it fiercely into the man's back and stirring it vigorously. Soon, the man's voice was silenced.

Leon and Li Yexing carried the body into a trash can in the alley and quickly ran away while a large group of black men were still enjoying their 'sport'.

After crossing a dirt road and hiding in another alley, Li Yexing turned to Leon and said, "You scared me. I thought you were planning to charge out from the front."

"How could that be possible? What do you think I am, the Terminator?" Leon replied.

Li Yexing thought to himself that there was no way the Terminator could beat him.

The two cautiously made their way through the chaotic alleyways, because the Rebel Forces launched a quick and decisive surprise attack; the damage to the town's buildings was not severe. This gave Li Yexing and Leon more hiding space and bought them more time.

"So, is your hideout safe?" Leon asked as they walked through the narrow alleys.

"It's relatively safe, it's remote, and there's also a hiding place in the cellar," replied Li Yexing.

"That's good. I just wonder if there's any food there. I haven't had a decent meal for several days..." Leon complained to Li Yexing.

"We have food, but the problem is how to get there," Li Yexing frowned.

Both of them held knives and could not use guns unless absolutely necessary, as using guns would attract all the nearby enemies. But if they didn't use guns, the assassination process would become tough.

Li Yexing regretted not attaching a silencer to his pistol before leaving.

As they approached the alley's entrance, Leon suddenly stopped and signaled to Li Yexing that there was a problem ahead. He pointed to the building across the street and said, "There's a guard over there. He's carrying a Molotov cocktail around his waist and an AK-47 in his hand. He looks very powerful and has blood on his face."

"What should we do? Should we take a detour?" Li Yexing asked.

"That's pointless..." Leon denied Li Yexing's suggestion and looked up at the building. "There's a guard over there too. They're distributed evenly. We can't avoid passing through their watch posts."

"Tsk..." A hint of disgust flashed across Li Yexing's face. "I wish I could shoot and kill that bastard..."

Being irritable wouldn't solve problems, but both he nor Leon didn't have time to waste here. Li Yexing frowned and scratched his head while looking across the dirt road at the row of two-story buildings. Suddenly, he had an idea.

"Hey, buddy..." Li Yexing patted Leon's shoulder and asked, "Do you think this road is wide enough?"

Looking at the dirt road that barely fits three small cars side by side, Leon shook his head and said, "It's not wide, but we can't just run past that guy's watchful eyes."

"We don't need to run past them under their noses," Li Yexing shook his head and said, "We can try to jump over them from the top of these buildings."

Leon was slightly startled, but then he instantly understood Li Yexing's intention.

"You want to jump over from the rooftop?"

"Most of those guys are only staring at the road, we can take advantage of their negligence and jump over from the buildings on this side."

After thinking for a moment, Leon nodded and said, "Let's give it a try."

So the two quietly went around to the back of the building. The group of Rebel Forces seemed to be still busy, and in the excited cheering of the onlookers, a fat black man who was the size of a small truck went up.

Watching the fat man shaking wildly like a truck, the surrounding black people cheered and shouted in the rhythm as if watching a World Cup match. The screams of women in the crowd mixed with the cheering, making people shudder.

"They are really disgusting monsters..." Leon couldn't help but frown as he watched the scene.

"Okay, don't watch, there will be plenty of opportunities to see later. When we escape, I'll give you a copy of my hard drive." Li Yexing patted Leon's shoulder and said.

Leon looked serious. He felt very unhappy about witnessing a tragedy but was unable to do anything about it.

Without paying attention to Leon's expression, Li Yexing climbed onto the metal trash can attached to the wall, bent his legs slightly, spread them apart, folded his hands together, and said to Leon, "Come on."

Leon took two steps back and then jumped up with force, stepping on Li Yexing's hands.

Li Yexing gritted his teeth and lifted Leon up with force. Leon struggled to step on the wall and grabbed the pipe under the eaves of the second floor. With a little effort, he grabbed the eaves and climbed up.

After climbing up, Leon turned around and reached out his hand to Li Yexing.

Li Yexing jumped off the trash can, took a few steps back, took a deep breath, and then ran up, stepping on the edge of the trash can, and jumped up. Leon stuck out half of his body, almost at the edge, and caught Li Yexing's outstretched hand. Then he suddenly exerted force from his waist, pulling Li Yexing up.

However, the moment when Leon exerted force, a loose brick fell from the roof and hit the metal trash can below, making a loud *BANG!* sound.

At this moment, time seemed to have stopped, and the sound of the Rebel Forces next to them suddenly disappeared.

"Dammit!" Leon gritted his teeth and pulled Li Yexing up.

In the next second, several members of the Rebel Forces walked into the alley. They looked around but saw no one. One of them keenly sensed the brick that had fallen beside the trash can and immediately looked up at the roof, but there was nothing there.

The few who found nothing looked at each other and then showed a somewhat crazy smile. They loudly greeted the crowd over there, and in the next second, the fat black man continued to move with the unconscious woman he was holding. The black people around them continued to cheer and shouted in the rhythm as if nothing had just happened.

At this moment, Li Yexing and Leon lay motionless on the roof until the fanatical voices of the black people continued to sound from over there.

Li Yexing wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and said, "Damn, that scared me!"
