[MHCISQD] Chapter 112: Sleeping on His Lap

"Mmm..."

The sunlight shone on Renault's face, and he slowly opened his eyes.

"It's morning already..." he muttered to himself.

After sleeping in a seated position all night, Renault felt uncomfortable all over his body, especially in his neck and shoulders. He rubbed his shoulders and picked up his phone from the floor. It was already 9 AM, the latest he had ever slept in. Even on weekends, he usually woke up at 8 AM.

"I guess I can't stay up late anymore. Oh, and Mikoto..." Renault was about to mention Mikoto when he realized that something was weighing on his leg.

He hadn't noticed it when he first woke up in his daze. He lowered his head and saw that Mikoto was sound asleep, using his leg as a pillow.

'Why can't this girl just sleep in her own bed? At least she could sleep on the mattress...' Renault thought to himself.

Looking at the TV screen in front of him, the game was still on, but it had been paused. Apparently, Mikoto had been considerate enough to pause the game before she fell asleep.

"I wonder how long she played last night," Renault wondered. It was only 9 AM, and he and his schoolmates weren't scheduled to go shopping until 1 PM, so there was plenty of time. However, the main issue at the moment was Mikoto.

Renault had been thinking about what to do for several minutes and ultimately decided not to disturb her. He reached out and slowly lifted Mikoto's body, then placed her on his bed behind him and covered her with a blanket.

"Mmm..." Mikoto stirred in her sleep as she adjusted to her new surroundings, puckering her lips and grabbing the blanket tightly.

"Senpai..."

Renault heard her mumble in her sleep, and was momentarily startled, but then realized she was just talking in her sleep.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, Renault looked at Mikoto's sleeping face, and a smile unconsciously appeared on his face.

He lifted his hand and brushed her hair back from her forehead. Slowly getting up, Renault left the room.

Two hours later, at 11 AM. The feeling of hunger in her stomach finally awakened Mikoto from her slumber.

"Hmm... hmm? Where am I...?" Her consciousness gradually returned, and Mikoto remembered where she was. "This is Senpai's room? This is Senpai's blanket?"

Mikoto sat up and remembered what had happened last night. After eating supper, she continued to play games, then... she remembered playing until almost 4 AM and then falling asleep next to Renault, who was already sleeping.

'I... I think I was lying on Senpai's lap...'

Mikoto's face instantly turned red, and she shyly lay back on the bed, pulling the blanket over her entire body.

"Wait a minute! I'm sleeping in bed now, which means... Kyaaa!"

Mikoto rolled around on the bed, turning left and right. Finally, she stopped and grabbed the blanket with both hands, covering her red face, and sniffed it.

"Senpai's scent..."

At 11:30 AM, Renault finished making lunch and prepared to wake up Mikoto. However, as soon as he arrived on the second floor, he saw the door open and she, looking shy, walked out of the room.

"Se-Senpai?"

"Awake? You really should have gone to bed if you were tired. It's uncomfortable sleeping on the floor. Don't do it again, okay?" Renault walked over and patted her little head, "Go brush your teeth and wash your face. I've already made lunch."

"Okay..."

Ten minutes later, Mikoto, who had quickly freshened up, went downstairs and sat across from Renault.

While eating, Renault said to Mikoto, "I'm going outside later. Our schoolmates have agreed to go to the shopping center together to buy things for the forest camp. Mikoto, do you want to come along?"

After lunch and a short break, Renault changed into a different outfit, grabbed a shoulder bag, said goodbye to Mikoto, and left on his motorcycle.

Watching Renault leave, Mikoto returned to the house and looked at the living room. After a moment's thought, she clenched her fists and said, "Yosh, it's time to clean up! I can't always rely on senpai, that's not my style!"

The agreed-upon shopping location was the largest shopping center nearby. When Renault arrived, he saw that it was packed with people.

"Even on a workday during summer vacation, there are still so many people here."

After parking his motorcycle, he was about to go in and find the others when he saw Yaoyorozu, Ashido, and Jiro getting off a bus at the station outside the shopping center.

The three girls are dressed differently. Ashido is wearing a T-shirt and shorts, with a lively and youthful appearance. Jiro has a more neutral style, while Yaoyorozu is wearing a white dress that gives off a "Rich Princess" vibe.
