[WDIDWAMGB] Chapter 103: Versus the Lizard
Added 2023-04-14 20:00:58 +0000 UTCLi Yexing was waiting for his chance. Before the opportunity arrived, he had to buy enough time for Kanan to take care of what she needed to do. His own task was to wait as long as possible for the moment when the monster opened its mouth.
When the large lizard dashed out of the corridor, it looked at the lone Li Yexing and the zombies wriggling on the ground, slightly surprised.
'What happened to the other one? But the remaining one seems to have more flesh, so it doesn't matter.' That was what the lizard thought.
At this point, the large lizard had obviously learned its lesson. Its murky eyeballs looked at the gun in Li Yexing's hand with some fear, and it had no intention of opening its mouth.
After thinking for a while with its brain, which had been completely dominated by parasites, it moved all four of its legs at the same time and silently rushed towards Li Yexing at an extremely fast speed. It intended to ram him to death!
"Is this thing really that clever?" Li Yexing frowned and didn't care about the zombies that were gradually crawling toward him.
He stared closely at the monster in front of him, which was like a small truck that had just come rushing over. When there were only about ten meters left between the two of them, Li Yexing suddenly rolled to the side with a tactical move, narrowly avoiding the monster's impact.
The monster couldn't control its inertia and slammed into the wall just behind Li Yexing. The wall collapsed with the monster's impact, and the monster's head was firmly stuck on the other side of the guard room's wall. In the process, it also crushed the few zombies that were crawling toward him just a moment ago.
While the monster's head was stuck in the guard room, Li Yexing got up quickly, picked up his gun, and aimed it at the monster's neck. He then fired a burst of shots. With each shot, the bullets hit the monster's neck, making a tinkling sound. However, only small pieces broke off, as if he had shot a stone.
It was not as easy as he had thought...
Li Yexing frowned and cold sweat dripped from his forehead. He threw away the empty bullet magazine and took the opportunity to change the magazine while retreating to create some distance.
A few seconds later, with debris flying around, the monster finally pulled its head out. It seemed to want to roar in anger, but it didn't dare to open its mouth under pressure. It silently turned around and charged at Li Yexing again.
"This fellow is too tough..." muttered Li Yexing.
However, the pressure on him was somewhat reduced this time. Li Yexing somewhat understood that this monster in front of him, although big in size, fast in running, and resistant to attacks, was not flexible. Without being able to bite him, its attack method seemed to be just ramming.
Dodging the monster's attack again, Li Yexing even began to consider whether he could trick the monster into ramming to death here.
The monster became very impatient after two unsuccessful attacks. Muffled sounds came out of its mouth, and white air sprayed out of its nose. Then, its body began to make a crackling sound. Along with this sound, the rock-like skin on its body actually cracked open!
Small fragments kept falling to the ground, and the cracks on the monster's body kept spreading. Finally, with a loud crack, its entire shell was completely shattered, just like a broken cookie.
The red and yellow mixed liquid flowed out from the shattered shell. Between the large broken pieces of shell, the crimson muscles were exposed, emitting a white mist. As the muscles were exposed, the monster's body grew by a circle out of nowhere. The shell on its tail even directly fell off, turning into a huge red flesh whip. Bones grew out of the tail, piercing through the skin and flesh, making its tail look like a giant mace.
Without any sound, the monster charged straight at Li Yexing again.
Li Yexing tried to use his old trick to avoid the monster's attack by dodging, but just as he dodged, the monster suddenly stopped and, taking advantage of its momentum, turned around in an extremely unnatural posture, lashing its tail directly at him.
Caught off guard, Li Yexing was hit hard and felt a sharp pain in his waist. It was as if he had been hit by a truck and was thrown out and rolled against the wall behind him.
"Fuck..." Li Yexing gritted his teeth and frowned, holding his burning side. He couldn't get up at once and suspected that his ribs were broken. However, he didn't feel any obvious pain in his internal organs.
Seeing Li Yexing fall to the ground, the monster charged toward him again.
Li Yexing pretended to dodge but saw the monster using the same old trick, dodging and lashing out with its tail again. He had already anticipated this move and gritted his teeth, enduring the pain. He slid underneath the swinging tail with a shinobi slide, but this move almost cost him his life. If he kept going like this, he would definitely die.
Li Yexing couldn't help but shout, "Kanan! Are you ready?"
"I'm ready! It's coming!" Kanan, on the third-floor stairs, furrowed her brows and took out two MP7s, aiming at the connection between the huge chandelier and the dome above. She pulled the triggers simultaneously.
Instantly, bullets hit the chandelier and the dome, creating sparks and flying debris. Under the continuous fire, the dome finally couldn't bear the weight and made a soft noise. Then, with a crash, the huge chandelier fell and hit the back of the large lizard in the hall hard. The spikes under the chandelier carried a huge weight and pierced into the fragile muscles between the broken armor, causing the monster to scream in pain.
"This is what we've been waiting for! Die!" Li Yexing shouted, enduring the pain and standing up. He grabbed the last hand grenade from his waist, pulled the pin, and threw it directly into the monster's mouth, then rolled over and lay down.
The monster sensed that an unknown object has been thrown into its mouth. It instinctively closed its mouth, and in the next second, accompanied by a loud bang, the hand grenade exploded inside the monster's mouth, right next to the parasite that was stuck in its throat.
The monster let out a cry of despair, its mouth wide open, as the parasite in its throat continued to spew out the yellow and red liquid. Then it quickly withered away.
With the death of the parasite, the huge lizard monster finally couldn't bear it. It slumped and fell to the ground, kicking weakly a few times before taking its last breath. Blood flowed continuously from its half-open mouth.
Sitting up, Li Yexing looked at the corpse of the big lizard in front of him. After confirming that it was completely dead, he looked at the zombies on the other side of the hall. Some were pinned down by other zombies and corpses, unable to move, while others were so rotten that they couldn't move at all, their mouths opening and closing towards him like fish stranded on the shore.
Seeing that there was no longer any threat around him, Li Yexing breathed heavily and lay directly on the ground, which was covered with broken stones and debris.
Kanan, who was looking at him from the stairs on the third floor, raised his thumbs up and smiled with relief.
