[WDIDWAMGB] Chapter 114: Kanan's Resolve

On the other side of the tarmac, the battle was not looking good.

Once again, Kanan blocked Capone's huge battle axe made from his mutated right arm with her own blade. She seized the opportunity and took a step forward to stab his chest fiercely. However, he calmly stepped back and used his mutated right arm as a shield, causing her blade to hit the huge axe and create a series of sparks.

Blocking Kanan's attack, Capone frowned and suddenly exerted his strength. He swung his huge right arm towards her with great force, forcing her to grit her teeth and step back to avoid the blow that could have cut her in half.

Looking at Capone in front of her, Kanan had to admit that this guy's figure was too huge, easily surpassing two meters and looking like a monster. Coupled with his tiger-like back and bear-like waist, he could easily overpower her without the need for any technique. Even though she was agile enough, it was still difficult for her to cause effective damage to him.

On the other hand, Capone's attacks were powerful and heavy, and just one solid hit could cost Kanan half of her life, if not kill her outright. Moreover, his attack range was too large, making her mutant hand blade that could reach the ground seem like a mere dagger.

"At this point in the battle, you should also understand the greatness of Halabaka and begin to feel regret for your sins..." Seeing the hesitation in Kanan's eyes, Capone solemnly said, "However, Halabaka is merciful. Now, you should repent and let me kill you with a remorseful heart so that you still have a chance to step into the land of God."

Kanan did not answer, only frowned. She knew that if this continued, both she and Li Yexing would be killed. Through the corner of her eye, she could vaguely see him struggling under the fierce attack of the man in sunglasses, and her own side was already at its wits' end. With just herself, she couldn't defeat Capone, who was stronger than herself and more like a real monster.

Unless she was willing to accept the power from the parasite and become a monster herself.

"It seems that you already have an answer in your heart..." Seeing Kanan pondering, Capone solemnly said, "Now, Forsaken, tell me what your answer is. Will you convert to the great Halabaka and enter the land of God? Or will you forever wander between life and death like a hungry wolf?"

"Like a hungry wolf..." Kanan silently raised her head and looked at the black sky outside the mine, allowing the raindrops to hit her face. She recalled the past scenes like a revolving lantern - her parents who died young, the indifferent villagers, the crazy revolutionary army, and the tragic death of the Black Mamba...

Why seek revenge?

Kanan has asked herself this question more than once. Over the years, many of those who fell were unrelated to her, and although there may have been friends among them, Kanan has become somewhat numb after sending them off time and time again.

But now, the revolution is over, and the Black Mamba is gone. If she doesn't seek revenge, where should she go?

Her life seems as dark and deep as the sky filled with clouds and rain.

Kanan doesn't want to think anymore. She seems to want to drown in this deep and meaningless revenge. However, just then, a faint light appeared in the darkness.

Looking closer, it was a flame from a lighter that illuminated the surrounding darkness. The owner of the lighter was an Asian-looking mercenary who smoked and looked at her strangely as if waiting for something.

Kanan understood, and she approached him with the cigarette in her mouth. The Asian mercenary smiled and approached her too. Their cheap cigarettes collided and were lit together by the flame, emitting a thin white smoke.

"So, that's how it is," Kanan murmured softly, feeling the cold raindrops hitting her face. "Did I become like this because I had unreasonable hopes that I shouldn't have?"

"Yes," Capone, who stood in front of her, said sternly. "It is because of our greed that we turn away from God. Now, you should let go of all your desires and return to the embrace of the Great God Halabaka."

"I said..." Kanan lowered her head and looked at Capone, who was standing in front of her while gazing at the sky. She whispered softly, "You're so noisy."

Capone didn't say anything, he just frowned.

Ignoring Capone's slightly annoyed expression, Kanan continued to speak to herself: "I don't understand all the talk about gods that comes out of your mouth, but I think the most important thing for a person is to be happy. I didn't understand this before and was held back by all sorts of strange things, but now I do, even though it's a bit late, and I have to miss out on some things..."

Scratching her head, Kanan forced a smile and said, "Ohh~ I really don't want that guy to see me in this state, but if we don't come out of here, we'll both have to die together. Is this a youth's dilemma?"

Suddenly, Kanan's expression turned ferocious, and she stared at Capone like an angry dog, saying, "It's all because of you! Can't you just go die and be done with it?"

Capone didn't know why she was angry, so he could only frown and say, "God can solve all your problems."

"Is that so..." Kanan sneered, "Then why don't you ask your god how to solve this?"

As soon as she finished speaking, the tattoos on Kanan's left shoulder began to squirm violently. They twisted and stretched wildly, crawling up her left face.

But that wasn't all.

At the moment when the tattoos on her left and right faces intersected, Kanan knelt in pain on the ground, her skin cracking open, blood and yellow slime gushing out of the wounds all over her body. Small tendrils crawled out of the wounds and bound her body, and bone spurs with a metallic sheen grew out of her body, piercing through her skin and muscles. Her left hand was undergoing the same mutation as her right hand and a bone spur extended out of her shoe and pants.

In near-agonizing pain, Kanan slowly stood up in a pool of blood.

Below her neck, her skin was almost completely gone, and her red muscles intertwined with wriggling veins were completely exposed. Her sports bra had been pierced by the bone spurs, replaced by an armor made up of bent bone spurs that wrapped around her waist from the spine. Her arms had turned into a long and short blades, piercing flesh and blood, flashing with a chilling light.

Looking at Capone in front of her, his face full of shock and confusion.

Kanan, the Black Mamba's Crazy Dog moved her body and adjusted to this form that she hadn't used in a long time. After getting into position, she looked at Capone with a fierce gaze and said, "Now, let's begin the second round."
