[WDIDWAMGB] Chapter 115: Agreement
Added 2023-04-26 19:53:06 +0000 UTCAbove the valley, on the edge of a cliff, the technical team from the Black Umbrella is closely monitoring the battle below in the fissure.
"What... is that thing?" The observer on the top of the fissure was shocked as he watched the screen showing the raging monster tearing apart and crushing the entire Undertaker unit with absolute power at the beginning of the battle.
"Casimir, can you see it? That thing..." The observer nervously spoke into the communicator, "It's an unidentified B.O.W. that appeared in the first battle report. I suspect Tricell Pharmaceutical is also involved in this operation!"
"I can see it, of course, I can see it..." Casimir, who was in Europe, sat in his boss chair, chin in hand, watching the screen of the crazy monster maid, and said with a smile: "It's really incredible. As for Tricell Pharmaceutical... those idiots don't have the ability to create such a thing..."
He then reached out and grabbed the mouse, scrolling through the wheel, and soon retrieved a file.
"Rita Griffith, the head maid of the Griffith Family, the mad dog on the Middle East battlefield..." Casimir murmured softly, "Ultimately, she died in the Orianna incident... right?"
Organizing his thoughts, Casimir casually asked, "Have you found out the reason why T-Lilith appeared in Malvia?"
"Report, Tricell refused to share any details with us on this matter," the frontline observer's voice came from the communicator.
"It seems they also know what that child really is, and they have some crooked ideas for her. But we received the news earlier than they did, so we have the upper hand..." Casimir said, taking a sip of coffee and sneering, "They can't even steal things on their own turf, so I still can't figure out why the South African branch wants to work with those idiots."
"So, Casimir, should we consider recovering that unknown B.O.W.?" the observer on the other end of the communicator asked.
"What? Are you out of your mind?" Casimir suddenly laughed, "T-Lillian's performance is obviously inferior to T-Lilith, and our prepared Undertaker unit is completely unable to cope with that resurrected maid..."
Casimir shook his head slightly and said, "Wait a minute, I was wrong. All the armed forces we brought over, including T-Lillian herself, may not be enough to handle that maid. Now you're telling me that you want to recover it? Where does your confidence come from? Isn't it good enough to just stay alive?"
The observer's voice hesitated through the communicator. "Well..."
"There's nothing to hide. I know what you want to say. Our recovery mission failed since that maid came in. I thought it was just a person who was good at using cold weapons, but I didn't expect its fighting style to be so unrestrained..." Casimir waved his hand indifferently. "Unlike those who are eager for success, I'm a practical person. Failure is a failure. This time it was my decision-making error. You won't be punished..."
Casimir smiled nonchalantly and said, "Consider Undertaker's unit as a gift, anyway, they're not worth much. Just remember to bring back the Second Princess alive. I'm afraid she'll be beaten to death by her heartless sister."
"Understood," came the voice from the front line through the communicator.
Casimir closed the communication temporarily and looked relaxed, not at all like someone who had just failed a mission. He opened his encrypted personal phone, dialed a certain person, and his mood was joyful.
Soon, a beautiful woman with long golden hair and a teardrop mole appeared on the screen. She squinted her orange eyes like a snake and tilted her head as she smiled and said, "Mr. Casimir, have you considered what I talked to you about earlier?"
"I am not good at refusing a beautiful woman's request, especially someone like you," Casimir scratched his head and responded with a smile. "Your orange eyes are truly beautiful, just like the most beautiful piece of art in the world."
"Thank you for your compliment," the blonde woman politely replied.
"No, no, no, you are mistaken, miss. I have never been a forgiving person," Casimir laughed and said, "You know, if you want someone to give up something good, you have to offer something better as compensation, right?"
"Don't worry, that's what we agreed on," the blonde woman squinted her eyes and smiled. "A blood sample with a high concentration of the T-Veronica virus will be delivered to you within a week."
"And it will not go through my foolish superiors, but directly to me," Casimir added with a smile.
"Of course, that's what we agreed on," the blonde woman said with a smile.
"Beautiful miss, just a reminder, don't ever think of playing tricks with me," Casimir whispered as he looked at the screen of his phone. "If you do, the matter of that Edonian mercenaries will be brought to the attention of our headquarters."
"Don't worry, I will keep my word," the blonde woman said with a smile. "Do you understand what I mean?"
"Of course, I do," Casimir smiled and said, "If I break my promise, you will take my life."
"It's great that you understand," the blonde woman covered her mouth and chuckled. "It's settled then. Honestly, I have some other things to attend to, and I may be busy later."
"Then, I won't disturb you, beautiful miss," Casimir smiled and said, "Don't forget about my things."
After ending the call, Casimir lay back on his chair with his legs resting on the table, staring at the ceiling and humming a tune.
Less than half an hour after T-Lillian and Undertaker unit left the European headquarters for South Africa, Casimir received a communication from a mysterious person on his encrypted phone. It was a beautiful blonde woman with a teardrop mole in the corner of her eye, but what caught Casimir's attention the most were her snake-like orange eyes.
Those were not human eyes.
The woman and Casimir talked about many things, and she even told him a lot of the secrets of Black Umbrella. Finally, the woman made her demand; she wanted Casimir to abandon the experimental subject with the codename T-Lilith.
Of course, Casimir was unwilling. Did you think that just because you asked me to give up, I would? Do you think I'm just a puppet for the Black Umbrella European branch's research director?
It wasn't until the woman pulled out her trump card - a sample of the T-Veronica virus that Casimir felt like his breath was taken away.
Legend had it that the Black Umbrella headquarters had a sample of the T-Veronica virus, but for some reason, everyone was tight-lipped about it, as if it were a ghost story passed around in upper management.
So when the woman offered to provide a sample of the T-Veronica virus, Casimir promptly agreed to compromise, even though T-Lilith seemed to be the only one of its kind at the moment. However, the R&D department had all the information for its development project, so they could always create another one someday. But T-Veronica was a different story - once it was missed, it would never be available again.
However, despite reaching an agreement, Casimir still had many unanswered questions.
In fact, he had always thought that T-Lilith was already dead.
As a newly developed project, her physical condition was unstable and she needed to soak in nutrient solution for most of the day. Without professional maintenance, her body would inevitably collapse within six months. But now, she is still alive and well.
Casimir guessed that it was likely that the mysterious blonde woman had the backing of a huge force that helped T-Lilith with regular maintenance; otherwise, it didn't make sense.
Thinking of this, Casimir took another sip of coffee and whispered as he looked up at the ceiling, "Who are you, really?"
