[WDIDWAMGB] Chapter 134: Sour Meeting

Li Yexing led the girls into the room with Hitomi.

The room was not quite what he had imagined. It was just a typical office with nameless flowers, bookshelves full of various books, black leather sofas on both sides of the room for guests, and a wooden desk in the back with neatly arranged files and nameless handicrafts. Behind the desk sat a middle-aged man in a black suit who looked difficult to talk to, while Hitomi stood straight next to the desk, looking serious and silent.

As soon as he and the girls entered the office, the middle-aged man stood up immediately and walked up to them to ask something.

Rita, who was standing next to him, smiled and nodded, answering him. Then, the man grabbed Li Yexing's hand and spoke quickly in Japanese, seeming quite enthusiastic.

"He says his name is Chishima Shinjiro and he is the leader of the Chishima Group. He is very grateful for Master's help in saving his daughter," Rita smiled and translated beside them.

"Tell him to get straight to the point," Li Yexing waved his hand and said, "When are we going to have dinner?"

"Master..." Rita looked embarrassed. She organized her words and politely hinted to Shinjiro that their schedule was tight and that Li Yexing and Lilith were a bit hungry.

Shinjiro looked up at him in surprise.

Although Li Yexing had already restrained himself, Shinjiro could still tell from his expression that he was a bit impatient.

Studying Li Yexing carefully, Shinjiro suddenly spoke in Japanese, and Rita's expression instantly became somewhat strange.

"Master," Rita whispered, "He's asking if you are a mercenary..."

Before he could react, the man in front of him started talking to himself, and Rita translated synchronously to him, "He says that Master's demeanor is completely different from that of gangsters and traditional warriors. It is a demeanor that can only be gained on the battlefield. Although Master has an Asian face, he speaks Russian-accented American English, and he's so young, so he thinks Master must be a mercenary."

Upon hearing her translation, Li Yexing's face turned ugly.

Bringing up an irrelevant topic! I regret saving your daughter!

Noticing Li Yexing's unusual behavior, Shinjiro tried hard to squeeze a smile out of his stern, uncle-like face. He quickly spoke a bunch of Japanese, and Rita next to him translated, "He says he hopes that Master won't misunderstand. The Chishima Group is an organization that inherits the orthodox spirit of the yakuza and will never do ungrateful things. The members of the Chishima Group will keep Master's secret. He's just curious why Master is here in Nagaba."

"Tell him we're here for tourism," Li Yexing said unpleasantly. "After we finish watching the festival, we'll leave."

Rita conveyed his words truthfully to Shinjiro which made him look uneasy. He then lowered his posture then said something to her.

She turned to Li Yexing and said, "He asks if Master is a mercenary, and if so, he wonders if Master would be interested in accepting a commission from the Chishima Group."

"Not interested," Li Yexing replied curtly.

The meeting with Chishima Group's leader ended on a sour note.

Shinjiro tried to persuade everyone to have dinner together, but Li Yexing was resolute in his attitude that business should not be discussed during meals. As a result, they had dinner together in an atmosphere that was less than harmonious.

During the meal, Shinjiro hinted several times to him that the commission could be negotiated, but Li Yexing insisted that he didn't need the money and just wanted to travel honestly.

After dinner, Shinjiro offered to have someone drive Li Yexing and the girls back to their place, but he refused.

Under the escort of Chishima Group members, they left the nightclub in the commercial street.

Lilith gently tugged at Li Yexing's clothes and he turned his head. He saw her small face looking sad as she whispered, "Yexing, Lilith didn't eat enough..."

"I haven't eaten enough either..." Li Yexing couldn't help but feel a little melancholy when he thought of the meager amount of food on his plate. He felt that the trip was really not worth it.

Kanan was even more direct and not polite at all. She said, "And they call themselves a yakuza. Do they think they're feeding rabbits?"

"Miss Kanan, please don't say that..." Rita said softly, "There is a big difference between Japanese and our food culture. Tonight's dinner was undoubtedly an expensive Japanese cuisine, and Mr. Chishima did not deliberately lower his posture. I can feel his respect for us."

"But respect doesn't feed us..." Li Yexing rubbed Lilith's little head and said to Rita, "Lilith is still hungry... and I'm still hungry too."

"Well, why don't we try Nagaba's street food?" Rita smiled at him and said, "After all, we are here to travel, experiencing local street food is also part of the travel, isn't it?"

"That sounds good..." Li Yexing nodded and looked at the commercial street in front of him. "So, what should we eat?"

"That shop over there seems to be doing very well!" Kanan pointed to a shop on the side of the street and said, "What do they sell?"

"I think it's noodles..." Li Yexing was a bit uncertain as he looked at the signboard.

"That shop sells ramen, Master..." Rita smiled at him and said, "Do you want to try it?"

"Japanese ramen..." Lilith looked at the shop with an expressionless face and then tugged at his clothes. "Lilith wants to eat that..."

"Then it's decided, let's have ramen for our formal dinner tonight." Li Yexing rubbed Lilith's little head and smiled at the girls around him.

"Formal dinner..." Rita covered her mouth and chuckled, "If Mr. Chishima knew that the expensive Japanese cuisine he had carefully prepared had been treated as an appetizer by Master, and the formal dinner was just ordinary street ramen, he would probably cry."

As they crossed the street and arrived at the door of the ramen restaurant, Rita took a step forward and pushed open the door. After everyone went inside, she followed and sat down in a chosen spot. The petite waitress beside them immediately came over and handed them menus.

Li Yexing glanced at it once and handed it over to Rita, looking embarrassed. "I can't read it, you order for us. Just order the same thing as you."

"Okay, Master..." Rita smiled and turned to ask Lilith and Kanan, "What kind of flavor do you want?"

"I don't care, as long as it fills me up..." Kanan, who was leaning against the chair, waved her hand absentmindedly.

"Lilith and Yexing will have the same thing..." Lilith rubbed her hands expressionlessly.

"Then let's just order the same thing for everyone." Rita smiled and looked down at the menu, muttering to herself, "Is this also a trial for the perfect maid, to find a noodle dish that caters to everyone's taste?"

In the end, for safety's sake, Rita decided to play it safe and ordered the restaurant's signature Nagaba ramen. The server next to them gave everyone a numbered card and said something in Japanese before leaving.

After a long wait, a hearty greeting was heard from the pick-up counter. Rita smiled and said to Li Yexing, "Our ramen are ready. Please wait a moment, I'll go get them..."

"I'll help you." Li Yexing stood up with her.

She seemed to want him to sit down and wait, but he felt it was a bit too much for one person to carry back four bowls of ramen.

"If only I could use my tentacles..." Rita muttered softly, her expression somewhat resentful, as if feeling guilty for not being able to carry four large bowls of ramen with her own hands...
