[WDIDWAMGB] Chapter 142: Mission Success

When Okamoto's subordinates informed him that someone had caused trouble at the casino, he felt a slight concern and hurriedly asked, "Which organization are they from? How many people came? What weapons are they carrying?"

His subordinates told him that they didn't know who they were, but there were only two of them, and they seemed to be unarmed.

Unarmed? They must be overconfident...

Okamoto casually dismissed his subordinates and instructed them to handle the situation. He estimated that within a few minutes, those two ignorant fools would be beaten to the ground and brought before him by his subordinates.

Sitting in his office, reviewing the account books and calculating how much money he could skim from under Kuzugami's watchful eyes and stuff into his own pockets, Okamoto remained composed. However, the commotion outside grew louder and seemed to be approaching the office door, which irritated him. He felt frustrated that such a large group of people couldn't handle just two people. They were utterly useless!

"Mr. Maeda, it seems I'll have to trouble you to handle this personally. Those idiots are completely useless..." Okamoto said to the man standing behind him.

The man named Maeda didn't utter a word and simply walked out.

Maeda's full name was Maeda Keita, and he was considered one of the best in the entire Kokuryukai organization. Due to the thriving business at the casino last month, which provided a significant amount of funds to Kokuryukai, Kuzugami directly assigned Maeda to Okamoto, specifically to ensure his safety. It was rumored that if it weren't for his own protection, Maeda had the opportunity to join and lead the 'Black Mask', a private army directly under the command of the Kuzugami. This demonstrated Maeda's formidable strength.

As expected, once Maeda was dispatched, the noise outside immediately subsided. Okamoto estimated that Maeda must have taken care of the matter already. He opened a drawer, intending to retrieve his pistol, but after careful consideration, he changed his mind. It was just a show-off, not worth it. So, he closed the drawer and instead took out a hidden machete under his desk.

Pushing open the office door, Okamoto walked with a swagger, brandishing the machete and shouting in a Kansai dialect, "Who the hell dares to cause trouble on my turf?!"

Then he saw one of Kokuryukai's top enforcers, his face covered in blood, rolling his eyes and held in place by a person wearing a black hood, unsure if he was dead or alive. Next to the person with the black hood, Okamoto's subordinates lay one after another in a pool of blood, their deaths gruesome.

Upon seeing him, the person with the black hood initially appeared slightly surprised but then grinned like a ferocious dog that had found its prey. He snapped Maeda's neck.

"Mi~tsu~ke~da~ (found~you~)." the person with the black hood said in strangely accented Japanese, grinning maliciously.

Okamoto was petrified, dropped his machete, and turned to run.

Who was this guy? Which organization did he belong to? No, was he really just an ordinary yakuza member? His killing technique seemed skilled. How many people has he killed?

From the way that person looked at him, Okamoto instantly realized that person wasn't there for negotiation or kidnapping. That person was here to kill him!

'Why didn't I grab the gun?' Okamoto thought frustratedly.

On the other side, as Li Yexing saw the chubby guy rolling away and escaping, he burst into laughter and chased after him. Just as Okamoto was about to open the office, Li Yexing grabbed the back collar of his clothes and slammed him to the ground. He placed his foot on Okamoto's chest. Li Yexing picked up a short knife from the ground and, disregarding Okamoto's cries, prepared to stab him in the eye socket. However, he heard a strong voice speaking in Japanese.

"Huh?" Li Yexing raised an eyebrow and looked up. Near the staircase, a young man with black short hair, wearing a white coat, was pointing a handgun at him. Seeing Li Yexing halt his actions, the man quickly pulled out an identification document from his pocket. He opened it in front of Li Yexing and shouted loudly in Japanese.

Although Li Yexing couldn't clearly see what kind of identification it was, he could make a rough guess.

This man, with the appearance of a righteous agent, was most likely a policeman.

Upon seeing the policeman, Okamoto, who was lying under Li Yexing's foot, immediately started pleading for help, seemingly seeking assistance from the policeman.

Li Yexing tilted his head and looked at the policeman pointing the gun at him. Then, he lightly pressed the communication device and said, "Kanan, is everything okay on your side?"

"Just handled it. I jumped out through the window directly. How about your side?" Kanan's voice came from the communication device, but she sounded a bit exhausted.

"Good to hear that it's handled..." Li Yexing whispered softly. Then, right in front of the white-coated policeman, he swiftly thrust the knife into Okamoto's eye socket.

In that instant, as he made the stabbing motion, Li Yexing executed a tactical roll and swiftly entered the nearby office. As expected, the next second, the policeman fired his gun, but naturally, he missed.

Without time to think, Li Yexing ran straight to the window of the office. He smashed the window with his elbow and jumped out directly. The moment he jumped, the white-coated policeman burst through the office's main door and rushed over. He reached the shattered window and saw Li Yexing performing a tactical roll, dissipating the momentum, then sprinting into the back entrance of the opposite mall.

Gritting his teeth, the white-coated policeman somersaulted out of the window.

On the other side, Li Yexing swiftly navigated through the corridors of the mall. He knew that guy was still chasing him. Siren sounds could be heard nearby, and Rita's voice came through the communication device, saying, "There are three police cars approaching the underground casino. Should I and Miss intercept them?"

"No need. First, go pick up Kanan, then withdraw to the entrance of the large mall next to the casino," Li Yexing instructed softly while pressing the earpiece.

"Understood, Rita out," came Rita's voice from the communication device.

The communication ended, and Li Yexing took off the communicator and tucked it into his pocket. He quickly hid between the clothing racks in the mall's apparel section.

After confirming that the surveillance cameras couldn't capture him hiding behind the clothes, he walked while loosening the elastic band around his waist. The loose sweatpants immediately slid down, revealing his jeans underneath. He swiftly removed his head covering and gloves, stuffing them into the head covering. He balled up the pants along with the jacket and threw them into a janitor's cart that passed by.

Simultaneously, he took off his outer jacket and turned it inside out. The black jacket instantly transformed into a brown one. He adjusted his slightly flattened hair and walked leisurely out from between the hangers, carefully observing the clothes on the shelves, appearing like a meticulous customer selecting clothing.

Before long, a police officer in a white uniform chased after him from behind. The officer ran into the apparel section, first pausing in surprise, then furrowing his brow as he scanned each customer in the area.

Li Yexing neither paid excessive attention nor pretended to be unconcerned. After giving the officer a glance, he continued to pretend to be a customer, carefully examining the clothes.

The white-clad officer continued scrutinizing every customer at the scene until his gaze locked on Li Yexing.

Damn it! Why did he notice me? Could it be because I didn't change my shoes?

Li Yexing thought frustratedly and acted as if nothing happened, stood up straight, surveyed his surroundings, and then realized that he seemed to be the only man among the customers.

How foolish of me! This is the women's section!

Li Yexing looked up at the sign above, confirming the location of the mall's main entrance. He pretended to be nonchalant and headed toward the main entrance. As soon as he moved, the officer immediately followed, maintaining a distance. He glanced at the fitting room mirrors ahead and saw the officer's serious expression.

Regulating his breathing, Li Yexing didn't hasten his pace. He calmly walked, allowing the officer to follow him until they reached the mall's exit. He pushed the door open and the officer followed closely behind.

Immediately, Li Yexing spotted three girls waiting for him outside the mall. Excitedly, he shouted, "Rita!" and rushed over, embracing Rita tightly. In a low voice, he whispered to her, "Act natural. The white-clad person following me is a police officer."

Rita understood his meaning and smiled as she gently stroked his hair. She then leaned in and gave him a light kiss.

The white-clad officer following behind Li Yexing looked at the scene of one man and three women before him, seemingly puzzled. After a moment, a tinge of disappointment appeared on his face, and he turned around and walked away.
