[MHCISQD] Chapter 245: Performance

Mei's cooking skills were unbelievable, considering she was a wealthy young lady. Everyone expected that someone that has a background like Yaoyorozu would be a novice in cooking since that would fit their typical expectations.

In response to this, Mei's surprising reply was, "Isn't it normal for girls to know how to cook?"

"... " All the girls present fell silent.

Meanwhile, the boys all reached a unanimous conclusion in their hearts.

This girl is absolutely someone you could marry and have a good life with absolutely!

Unfortunately, being a wealthy young lady posed a challenge.

The boys from ordinary backgrounds had already given up on their secret desires. Others like Iida and Todoroki had no thoughts of their own as they were completely focused on becoming Pro Heroes.

After dinner, everyone gathered in the hall, including Mei, who was asked to stay behind by Yaoyorozu.

Iida, as the class representative, looked at everyone and said, "I think we all know why we're gathering here at this time. The cultural festival is just a month away, and we need to decide on a performance to showcase on that day."

During the two days of rest, everyone had come up with some ideas for performances. Now it was time to present their ideas and then vote on them.

"Drama!"

"Dance!"

"Haunted House!"

"Music Band!"

"Maid Cafe!"

Everyone turned to look at Kaminari.

Kaminari couldn't help but shrink his neck and then gathered the courage to say, "What, can't I express my opinion?"

Iida replied, "Of course, everyone is free to express their ideas."

Out of the 20 students in the class, only Renault, Bakugo, and Todoroki did not propose any ideas. Renault hadn't given it much thought, and he had no objections to the final choice either.

Todoroki was in a similar position. He had been training throughout the two days and wasn't very knowledgeable about these things.

As for Bakugo... well, he didn't care about these things at all. Just sitting here was already a good compromise.

While they were talking, Iida had already written all the proposed performances on a small blackboard.

Mineta looked at the blackboard and immediately exclaimed, "Wait a minute, Iida, what about maid cafe?!"

Regarding this, Iida pushed his glasses up and replied, "Considering the suggestion from all the girls in the class to remove the voting eligibility for activities like a maid cafe, I have decided to adopt it after careful consideration. So, even if you and Kaminari both chose this option, it cannot be voted on."

"How can you do this?! Just because the girls said no, we can't do it?" Mineta stood up, filled with indignation, and looked at the other boys. He asked, "What about you? I think the idea of a maid cafe is great! We can't cancel it, right?"

However, not a single person agreed with him. Even Kaminari, who initially suggested the maid cafe, turned his head and started whistling.

Renault lifted his teacup and took a sip, then said to Mineta, "You better give up, Mineta. Do you think we don't know about your twisted thoughts? In this matter, we unanimously respect the girls' opinions."

Everyone nodded, and though Bakugo didn't make any moves, his eyes also expressed agreement with Renault's statement.

Iida glanced at Mineta, who seemed completely honest now, and said, "Alright, then let's proceed to vote and choose a project from the ones mentioned above for our cultural festival performance."

"Yes, and it should be something that all of us can participate in."

"A drama could work, but it's quite difficult as it requires both a script and prop production. Moreover, it may not be very entertaining."

"How about a haunted house?"

"That would be even more troublesome to set up, and we have a girl in Class B with a Poltergeist Quirk. There are plenty of peculiar Quirks in the school, so it might not scare many people."

"Dance, maybe?"

"But I can't dance!!!"

Although they initially intended to vote, most people wanted to choose their own suggested projects. In the end, it turned into a discussion.

Watching everyone fail to come up with a conclusive result, Mei, who had been observing the situation, spoke up, "Um, why don't you combine them?"

All eyes turned towards Mei.

Yaoyorozu looked at a slightly nervous Mei and reassured her, "Mei, do you have any ideas? Share them with us."

The girl nodded and said, "Well, your programs include dancing, singing, and musical performances, right? Why not combine them? Those who can play instruments can do so, and those who can't, can either dance or sing. This way, everyone can participate."

"Yeah!"

"That sounds good!"

After a quick discussion, the group finalized their cultural festival program - music performances combined with dance.

"The program sounds good," Iida said, rubbing his chin. "But everyone should be aware that we have to handle the choreography and music ourselves. The teachers won't assist us."

Ashido immediately raised her hand and said, "No problem! Leave the dancing to me! As for the music, let Kyoka handle it. She has a room filled with instruments, right? Let's meet tonight and discuss the musical style and dance!"

"Huh? M-Me?" Jiro, who was suddenly called out, blushed but reluctantly agreed under the expectant gazes of everyone. "Well... I'll give it a try."

And so, the discussion about the cultural festival came to a close. After presenting their program to Aizawa the next day, they would begin organizing the personnel and rehearsals.

It was getting late, and one by one, everyone went upstairs after the conversation.

Renault was about to leave too but was stopped by Bakugo, who hadn't left either.

"Wait."

Turning around and looking at Bakugo, who was the last one remaining, Renault felt curious. "What's up?"

"Are you just going to go along with them and play this boring game? You should be able to tell what these guys are up to."

Renault understood Bakugo's meaning, but he didn't say anything. He shrugged, turned, and headed towards the elevator. "If you have something in mind, why don't you speak up yourself? Don't expect me to say it for you. Well, I've been busy with various things today, so I need to rest early. Are you taking the elevator?"

Seeing Bakugo not moving, Renault pressed the button.

*DING!*

As the elevator doors closed, Bakugo stood in the corridor, pursing his lips before turning and heading for the stairs.

Inside the elevator, a smile appeared on Renault's face. "If it were the old Bakugo, he would have lost his temper and said something already. It's rare for him to stay silent today. I wonder how long he can hold it in."
