[MHCISQD] Chapter 249: Division of Roles

Bakugo glanced around at the silent crowd, then looked over at Renault, who was spectating with an amused smile, and he rolled his eyes.

"Well, since you're all waiting for me to speak, I'll just say it directly," Bakugo said, looking at everyone. "You guys are doing this to alleviate the pressure on students from other departments, right?"

After a brief pause, noticing the slightly awkward expressions on everyone's faces, Bakugo continued without mincing words. "Ha! Boring! Those idiots have already become hostile toward us from the start. How can they possibly accept our goodwill? Let me make it clear, I don't care about what others think. Let them hate us all they want! We didn't ask to be targeted by villains. Why should we care about their opinions? If any of you still hold onto this kind of thinking, I advise you to give up now before you embarrass yourselves."

After expressing his thoughts in one breath, Bakugo felt considerably relieved.

Glancing at Renault, who had been smiling all along, Bakugo's anger flared up again. "You! What's so amusing about watching from the sidelines?"

"Well, witnessing Bakugo being so straightforward with his thoughts is indeed an entertaining sight. You've made some progress huh..." Renault replied.

"Mind your own business! I'll say whatever I want!" Bakugo retorted.

With that said, he walked over to the nearby sofa and sat down, refusing to say another word.

Clapping his hands, Renault turned the attention of the silently contemplative crowd towards him and spoke. "Although Bakugo's tone was a bit harsh, I agree with his thoughts. While in the past, we might have violated some rules, I don't believe we truly did anything wrong. In many situations, we were forced to act that way. Even if we were given a chance to do it all over again, I believe we would make the same choices. So, I ask you all, do you think we were at fault?"

The group remained silent, heads lowered. Soon enough, Kirishima, who was usually quick to speak, took a deep breath and said, "I think we haven't done anything wrong all this time. Whether it was dealing with villain invasions or the incidents during the training camp, as students of the hero department, we can't back down when villains stand in front of us or when our schoolmates are in danger."

"That's right," Renault continued, taking the lead in the conversation. "The cultural festival might primarily be an opportunity for students from other departments to showcase their talents, but it doesn't mean we have to bow to their whims. If we can make them hostile in other aspects, why should we willingly play second fiddle in cultural events? If we're going to do something, we should strive for excellence and leave everyone speechless, shouldn't we?"

Bakugo, who had been silent, snorted in agreement. "The only thing we need to do is crush all our opponents."

"Exactly. Now that our cultural festival performance is set, let's use music to crush everyone and leave them in awe. How about that?" Renault proposed.

With Renault and Bakugo's words coming to an end, the emotions of everyone gradually ignited.

"Using music?"

"To crush them?"

"Ohhh!!!"

"That's what we should do!"

"Hahaha, Bakugo, it's rare for you to say something useful!"

"Get lost! Don't come near me, you fool!"

Watching everyone become completely energized, Renault's gaze swept through the crowd and met Yaoyorozu's eyes, and both of them smiled.

As for the next steps, they were relatively straightforward.

Ashido brought out her laptop and showed everyone a performance idea that sparked inspiration. She then said, "I'll take charge of choreography! Plus, many of our classmates' Quirks can be incorporated. Ochaco-chan can make everyone float, Todoroki's Quirk can create ice, and Kirishima can shatter the ice into fragments. Finally, combined with Aoyama's laser, we'll achieve a perfect dream-like stage effect!"

As they listened, everyone imagined the scene. Though the production process might be visually overwhelming, the end result, created by their own hands, would undoubtedly be amazing!

"But what about the lead vocalist?" Uraraka felt happy about being able to contribute, but at the same time, she thought of a question. "Who should we choose as the lead vocalist?"

"Well, how about Jiro?" someone suggested.

"Yeah, Kyoka, you would be perfect!" another chimed in.

"Kyoka, you have an amazing voice! Give it a try!"

Immediately, the girls brought a microphone stand and dragged the boys who wanted to hog the spotlight away, pushing Jiro up on the stage.

"Are you really asking me?" Jiro stood in front of the microphone, blushing and feeling a bit unsure. However, seeing everyone so enthusiastic, she nodded reluctantly and took hold of the microphone.

Taking a deep breath, Jiro closed her eyes slowly and began to sing.

It's safe to say that she was truly the rightful choice for the lead vocalist. Her voice was already stage-worthy!

At that moment, the boys who had initially wanted to vie for the lead vocalist position were left in awe, their ears captivated, and they closed their eyes. Even Renault was amazed by Jiro's voice.

After singing a short segment, Jiro paused, and her position as the lead vocalist was solidified.

Soon after, the division of roles within the performance and dance groups was also determined.

Without wasting any time, everyone split into two groups and started their first round of practice while the enthusiasm was still high.

The performance group naturally focused on familiarizing themselves with the instruments, while the dance group engaged in some basic exercises.

And this practice continued until midnight.

"Phew~"

Exhausted from washing up, Renault returned to his room and immediately collapsed onto his bed.

It had been years since he last touched an instrument, and just being able to remember how to play the bass was already quite an achievement. However, it took him quite some time to regain his touch.

"But with this, there will be even more things to juggle. Even if the work study time is reduced, I still have to participate. Moreover, Bakugo and Todoroki have occasional provisional hero license supplementary classes, which are different from our off-campus work studies and cannot be skipped. It seems like I need to manage my time properly."

As he sat up and reached for his phone, Renault noticed a message from Yaoyorozu. After glancing around, he immediately teleported to her place and pulled her over.

Embracing Yaoyorozu, who immediately jumped into his arms, Renault helplessly said, "Aren't you worried about someone coming to find you at night?"

"After practicing so hard, who would bother coming to find me?" Yaoyorozu replied nonchalantly, taking in his scent.

"I think you should still be careful. If everyone finds out, it won't really be a problem for me, but it won't be good for you."

"Should I go back then?"

"Now that you're here, do you think you can just leave? Be a good pillow for me."

With that, Renault switched off the lights, pulled the covers, and went to sleep.
