What does it mean to get chaptered?

It depends on the character of the chapter. Medical is usually a medical retirement or just a medical discharge. I know people who have been kicked out of military service on a chapter for misconduct that are still able to get back into the military after 18-24 months with a waiver. Basically they were too immature for service at the time and when they were older and more mature they were able to have respectable military careers.
