Hi everyone!

We came back from our vacation last week and have clawed our way through the backlog of messages, mails and bug reports. Just in time to enjoy the spooky season by working on the spooky forest! ^w^

Good Boys Howling at the Moon

I’m feeling fresh and energized to work on some fellas that haven't gotten much attention for a while, but are in dire need for the loving touch of my eager stylus.

Right now they only make a brief appearance in the form of a temp boss fight in one of the glitch rifts, but ultimately they will get a settlement, culture and backstory of their own. I have had some ideas for that in my drawer for so long, they have been collecting dust.

In my process I always start with rough, uncolored shapes - that way I can do quick and dirty work and leave all the details to the imagination instead of narrowing the perspective too early. After we decide on the shape language, I drill down and explore the patterns and details.

Experimenting with shapes to iterate towards a design we are happy with.

We're also going through the rough backstory outline for them and updating them with our current understanding of who they are and how they relate to the Gardener who terraformed the planet they inhabit. How can wolves exist on both this undiscovered garden world and on Haven - Kincaid's home? How will they react to her arrival? ^w^

At the same time I’m also in the mood for sketching up the characters themselves! I already have an interaction planned with at least one of the villagers, but the person in question isn’t fleshed out yet.

Right before we left for the vacation we playtested the game for hours and hours so we could feel confident in the release and enjoy the vacay stress free.

"Relax, bunny! The game is basically bug-free now. We squashed everything last night."

The Gang Encounters a Few More Bugs Than Expected

We want to thank you guys for all the reports you have sent us! It’s honestly so much easier to narrow down and squash those bugs thanks to your descriptions. Every screenshot helps a lot and some of you guys even record videos to capture an interaction gone wrong and we just want to let you all know how much that helps us!

In this build we updated the controller that is responsible for handling the input of buttons and it had some unpredicted side effects, but it seems the rising and falling water also still isn’t quite finished with us. Right now that’s only relevant for one optional puzzle room, but if we want to use the mechanic in the rest of the game, it needs to stand on a firm foundation. 

A grab bag of ToDos

Aside from the bigger projects, I still have half a dozen graphical assets that are almost done but didn’t make it into the last update. I want to tackle the ones that could be especially handy to improve the readability of the game, like bigger levers, crystal-studded doors to open with your blaster, some missing movement sprites for our protagonist etc.

We hope that will make it easier traversing the world and solve riddles with the nice side effect of making the world more consistent when it comes to the use of crystals, colors and shapes ^^

I am also going through inspo photos I grabbed during our trip that I wanted to turn into environment concept art.

Based on a really cool subway station we saw in Tokyo
Japan's mix of old technology in beautiful gardens and forests was super inspiring and fit right into what we had planned for "Planet B"

Heya! ^w^ To find the blaster, orient yourself towards the bottom-right! But there is still a bug in the cisterns which might lock you. We're juuuust about to push the fix for that! If you can wait a day, it will make it more comfortable!

Also I thought I remembered that this game had grapling when an enemy hit you (I saw a video of this game a long time ago and forgot it existed)

So um I managed to get into the new area where it claims you need the blaster but I haven't gotten it yet but the way I did it was just spaming punch so I could float a bit, might wanna tweak it

Yes! Thats unfortunately a known bug but it will be fixed in the hotfix/next version! There is a workaround which is a bit clunky, but you can download the last build and play past this room, then use the savegame to continue in the current build!

there also seems to be a softlock in the room to the right of where you meet the guy fixing the pipes. after finishing the small arena the doors never open. 2025.9 ver

Kobold threesome scene seems to not work in the 2025.9 version, is this known about? Seems to not be a keybind issue, since I have rebound Interact.

Please add the input settings to the save data. Found a few areas the game crashes and resetting the controls every time is very frustrating.

Where the heck am I supposed to find the blaster or the blaster upgrade? I have spent so much time on both build 25.05 and 25.09 looking for those and there's no clear indicator for them at all. Years ago it was easy to find things, now it's like a maze trying to find anything in this game. You put a giant "New!" on the map but then you get there and it says "You need the blaster upgrade for this." only for there to be no indicator of where to find the blaster AT ALL. The map seriously needs some labels for zones and there should be more clues from NPCs on what to do. A quick travel system between the save points would be greatly appreciated along with the ability to zoom in on the map.
